My eyes slowly opened. The light was dimmed down in the room. I slowly looked around. Mom and dad were in the room.
"Danielle." Mom hugged me tightly.
"Easy, Pep." Dad put a hand on mom's shoulder then hugged me, kissing my forehead. "How ya feeling kiddo?"
"What the hell do you expect?" I muttered. "I got ran over. I think or I feel like it at least."
"Well. You feel better enough to joke around." Mom sighed while dad chuckled.
"I wouldn't say that." I shrugged, and then winced. Someone knocked on the door. "What?" I snapped.
"Danielle? Can I come in?" Fitz asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"We'll let you two talk." Mom and dad kissed me before leaving. Fitz took their spots.
"Hey." I faintly smiled. "How's it goin?"
"Well. Next time you try to pull another move like that, I might just hurt you myself." He chuckled. I missed his accent. "Danielle. What you did was really brave. Thank you."
"Well. All I said was go." I quietly laughed. "Don't thank me. I'm more than happy that I was the one to get taken and not any of you guys."
"You almost died, Danielle. If Captain Rogers wouldn't've found you when he did, you would've died." Fitz rubbed my hand.
"Rogers saved me?" I asked.
"Yeah. You don't remember. Do you?" He asked. I tried to remember when Steve saved me. Grant walked into the door. "I'll leave you two. I hope you feel better, Danielle." Fitz smiled before leaving me with Grant. He silently sat by me on the bed. He looked sad.
"Hi." I rasped. Ugh. My voice wasn't working right.
"Hey. How ya feeling?" He asked.
"Mmmmm." I shrugged, and winced again.
"Careful. You blew it out." Grant held my hand.
"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"You blew your left shoulder out, and dislocated your left wrist and your right ankle, and you lost a hell of a lot of blood."
"Oh." I muttered.
"What happened in there?" He softly asked after a while.
"It-It-It was d-d-d-dark." I stuttered, suddenly scared to death. The heart monitor beeped very loud, ringing my ears. Grant stood up as Bruce and Jemma rushed into the room.
"You need to leave, Ward." Jemma said as she put her hand on my forehead. Grant nodded and left. "Oh my god, Danielle." Jemma hugged me. "You scared all of us to death!"
"I scared myself." I smiled.
"Does anything hurt, Danielle?" Bruce asked.
"My body." I shrugged and winced. God damn this was getting old. "Can I see Phil?"
"He doesn't want to come and see you until you're stronger." Jemma rubbed my hand.
"Oh." I nodded. "I'm gonna go back to sleep."
"Okay, sweetie. We'll be right here in case you need us." Bruce smiled. I fell asleep a few seconds later.
