Just Friends

AGENT GRANT WARD'S POV

"Come on, Danielle. You need to get some rest." I rubbed her hand. It was around seven in the morning and she hadn't slept at all.

"I can't, Grant. Every time I close my eyes, nightmares follow." She looked at her hands. Her eyes showed she was sleep deprived, that she hadn't slept good in days.

"Dani. Baby. I promise I'll find the people who hurt you." I murmured. "I love you."

"I love you." She put her face in her pillow. My phone went off. Coulson needed me when I wasn't with Danielle. "Go ahead and see what he needs, Grant."

"I'm perfectly fine right here with you. Coulson said it was okay." Since her back was to me, I put a hand on her hip and laid behind her.

"Go ahead and go."

"You know you want me to stay anyways, right?" She turned to me.

"And how would you know?" Danielle cocked an eyebrow.

"Because I know you all too well. I know almost everything about you, Danielle." I kissed her forehead.

"Oh yeah? What's my favorite color?"

"Hot pink and neon green."

"And?"

"And once in a while its light blue." I chuckled. "Get some sleep, baby."

"Only if you go see what Phil needs. I don't need you as much as he probably does." She kissed me lightly before covering up. "But have either Austin, Jeremy, Chris, or Harland come in here."

"Why?" I asked.

"So I have someone to talk to or just to sleep with." She mumbled.

"I told you I'd stay with you, Danielle."

"You're jealous." She giggled and turned to me.

"No I'm not-"

"Yes you are. I won't do anything with any of them. They're just friends." Dani held my hand.

"I'll see ya later, baby." I kissed her hand before walking to the living room. Austin was the first one I saw, but I didn't want him to go in with her. "Hey Harland? Danielle said she wants you to stay with her while I'm gone."

"Okay." Harland nodded and went to Danielle's room.

"Why aren't you with her?" Stark asked. He seemed more at ease since I'd been helping with her.

"Agent Coulson needs me, sir. But I'll be back as soon as I can." Stark just nodded. I went to the elevator and to my truck.
