Sunday Day 1 of the family trip
Sabrina's POV 💜
My friend Gisselle held on to me tightly as I tried to get my two suitcases in the car.
I laughed as her short self tried to use her body weight to stop me from going out that door. "Gisselle," I said firmly. "I'm only gonna be gone for a week!"
"That's too longgg!" She whined with her arms wrapped around my legs and her face digging in to my thighs.
It was nice to know I'd be missed, but this girl was just over dramatic. Gisselle isn't legitimately my best friend, but we are close and I love her to death. I was gonna miss her and Devin. He's pissed that I'm leaving too since at school we're always together and hanging out.
"Just stay here in Cleveland with the rest of your friends," she smiled. "New York will always be there."
"I couldn't stay even if I wanted to. I told you, my grandma wants the family to know each other better."
"Grrr."
My mom and Dad came back in the house from loading the car with everything we needed.
"Gisselle, get off my baby. One week is not that long, we'll be back before you know it." My Mom said, grabbing her keys and swinging her Michael Kors purse over her shoulder.
My dad grabbed the last bag and held the door open for everyone, including my 21 year old brother who came from college to ride to New York to see the family with us.
Shane studied criminal justice in college. He's been away for a long time and riding in a car next to him for many hours will definitely rekindle our relationship.
"And don't you think you're mother wants you home by now? It's almost midnight." My Dad said as we all made our way to the door. Gisselle had finally let me go.
"Yeah you're right Mr. Clemons." She looked at me with a pouty of face, "I'm gonna miss you!"
I laughed, "imma miss you too Gisselle now go home! I'll FaceTime you in the morning."
Slowly and dramatically she finally left, and we were on our way to the big city.
