4 YEARS LATERDevin🏈
"So Devin White? How does it feel to be known as the guy who carried this team to their first championship in 10 years?"I wiped the sweat off my forehead and cheeks and threw my towel over my shoulder.
"It's an amazing feeling you know? I can't ever say I did it by myself because we all played our hearts out this evening and together, we've earned and deserve this win." I responded to the mic in the reporter's hand.
"I overheard Desmond, your quarterback, say that you guys are gonna celebrate big tonight. What are your plans for this evening? Will we see you guys on the news about how you guys partied so hard you shook the whole city?" She joked.
I chuckled. "Nah, not at all. I plan on celebrating with my lady tonight. You know, after I spend some time with the fellas of course."
She had a few more questions for me and I finally was able to get away and get to the locker room. I needed a shower bad. When you win a championship game, you're gonna need that shower for a long time. It wasn't easy, but we did it and we worked damn hard for it. Even though it took me til my senior year to get it.
I came from the showers and walked back out into the locker room where the fellas were.
"Yo D, you tryna hit the club tonight bruh?" One said
I shook my head and chuckled, "nah. I gotta see my girl man. It's been a long while since I've seen her."
"Ahhh whatever," they teased. They always called me whipped or sprung over her, but I don't care. I love this girl. She's my queen.
After drying off and putting on my clean sweats, I grabbed my duffle bag and rushed out the door. I couldn't wait to see her. Everyone else had left already, headed downtown of course since they knew they'd be getting a warm welcome from all of the city.
I opened the door to the parking lot and took out my phone to dial my woman's number, but before I could even find her name in my contact list, I recognized her sweet voice from behind me.
"Long time no see, lil stranger."
I turned around and saw her standing there in her Virginia Tech gear to support me along with some blue jeans. I admired the way she curled her hair, it complimented her figure and light skin tone.
"Nicole! Babyyy!" I smiled and she ran into my hug and held on tight. "I missed you so much Devin, I was losing my mind in Paris without you."
I let go of her curvaceous frame and immediately couldn't wait to get her home.
"Good game tonight champ." She grinned and playfully punched me in the chest.
"Thanks babe," I grabbed her and pulled her into a slow passionate kiss that I haven't been able to give her for two months. She decided to study abroad and left me alone for what felt like forever. But she's back now so I'm happy all over again.
"We have to hurry and get home so you can change. I planned for us to go out for drinks and wings tonight at the Soul Lounge." She said and began walking to my car.
I grabbed her arm and pulled her back. "No no no. I was hoping we could just go home and catch up on love making." I smirked, hoping that would persuade her enough.
"We got all night for that, but I'm really hungry for their wings and I thought you'd want to go out tonight to celebrate your big win." She cheesed with her chin on my chest, eyes looking at me and arms wrapped tightly around my body.
