Friday

Sabrina had just finished her show. It was now a little after ten o'clock at night and Perry's boys got a lot of sleep today to be prepared to drive them back to Cleveland tonight.

It was rhythm and blues night at a club on the outskirts of the city. Various singers came out from this side of the country to entertain the people, and also to collect that fat check. Sabrina sung a medley of two of her most popular songs and the crowd enjoyed it. She took pictures with a few people then chilled in the back while the drivers were eating so that they can have all their energy to stay awake on the road.

Sabrina laid on the small red sofa that was backstage next to a vending machine. Her legs were kicked up on the back of the sofa as her head rested easily on a pillow.

"How's Perry doing?" One of the drivers said. He and the other one were at a folding table across the room eating baby back ribs, cole slaw and baked macaroni and cheese.

"Still dizzy with a fever." Sabrina sighed with her eyes closed. She was almost asleep.

"He better not throw up in my van. I gotta return it the way I had it on Sunday." He said, smacking on his food.

Sabrina slightly chucked while slowly getting up. "He won't, and let me text him now that we'll be there shortly."

Perry stayed at the hotel tonight. He wanted so bad to come and support Sabrina, but his head was spinning so bad and loud noise was bothering him. Getting out of bed wasn't a good idea to him. Good thing Sabrina was very understanding.

Sabrina walked out into the hall and headed towards the bathroom to pee where she would also send Perry the text to start getting ready. Sabrina was excited about going home, but she still had a little hole in her heart.

She walked down the hall while on her phone, texting Perry of course. She never even looked up. While walking in the direction of the bathroom, Sabrina felt a hand grab her arm and pulled her inside the women's restroom.

"What the hell are you-" she stopped when she looked up and saw the face of he first love. Devin didn't say a word, he was on a mission and didn't need any distractions.

"Dev?!" Sabrina said, confused as to why he was here at this club, and two, why he was pulling her into the bathroom.

Once the door closed behind them, Devin gently backed Sabrina against the wall, took one of her hands in his, and his other leaned against the wall above her head.

"From the first time we started talking to each other, I knew that you were the one for me. Everything about you, literally everything, has been the best thing that had ever happened to me. Not moving out of my parents house, not finding my love for football, but you. You inspired and motivated me to do better and kept my head on tight. And I've been losing my mind without you. I was so wrong and so fucking stupid to let you go, and I-I realized that as soon as I got home that night. And I am so sorry, for any pain or sorrow I may have caused you, and I wished almost every night that I could take it back, but nothing happened. I'm sitting at home with a woman who I thought I loved, when honestly, I just needed someone to fill that emptiness in my heart since you left.. I can't even get my thoughts together and I forget who I am or where I'm at every time I see that man showing you affection. And I get so pissed because, you're supposed to be mine. All mine. No one else should be kissing you or loving you or even holding your hand. Those are my kisses. I'm tired of not coming home to you. I'm tired of not being able to speak like we used to. I just- I can't live without you. You're my life Sabrina, and I love you."

Sabrina was all ears, she listened with an open mind and heart as one tear slid down her face. She let him talk and talk, and it made her happy to hear it.

Devin wiped her tear away. "I'm insanely in love with you Sabrina Clemons. My life has no meaning without you. You are truly my other half. Baby please, give us another chance."

Sabrina exhaled and wiped her face. "How do I know, that when things get hard you won't just abandon me again?"

"Over the years I've learned to keep the people who really care about your wellbeing around, because when you're down and out, those are the ones that are gonna be right there."

They stared deep into each other's eyes, there was seriousness and honesty in Devin's eyes, and sympathy, love and forgiveness in Sabrina's.

"Why now, huh? Why did you wait until I'm in another relationship, at the start of a wonderful career, and here in Blacksburg Virginia? If you felt this way, why didn't you just come back home and talk to me?" Sabrina continued crying and wiping her red, teary eyes.

"I've always felt this way! Since I assumed that it was really over between us, I just hopped in another relationship hoping to find a piece of you in her. She does remind me of you a little, but Sabrina she ain't you. I thought I was happy again until I saw you for the first time in four years, singing beautiful in that gold dress and heels. That's when everything hit me; I'm not happy, and you're what I really need."

Sabrina kept weeping and put her face in her palms. It was a lot to take in. All this time, she also had been thinking about what life would be like if she still had Devin, but now since his confessions are coming out, she was having second thoughts.

"Devin I can't do this with you." She sobbed.

His heart was shot, but he didn't give up hope. He told himself to not even bother going home if he didn't walk out this club with Sabrina in his arms, he was so determined.

"I'm in a relationship, and he loves me." She said, picking her head up from her hands.

Devin made sure not to break eye contact. "Do you love him?"

Of course Sabrina loved Perry. Not as much as she loved Devin though. She didn't respond, but just looked straight ahead. He assumed that it was a way of her saying yes, and that she didn't wanna hurt his heart anymore by actually saying it.

Devin backed away and put both hands on his head. He wanted to cry so bad, but he didn't wanna show that much weakness. It's a man thing. He took a deep breath and turned around. He thought about walking out and leaving Sabrina alone for good, but he just didn't want to. Another 30 seconds in a room with the love of his life meant the world to him.

"I'm in love with you." She said, slightly above a whisper.

Devin faced her again quickly, and if relief had a face, it would look exactly like Devin right now. And that was it, he let his tears go.

"I've never stopped loving you Devin." More water came streaming down from her eyes. "I missed you, so so much. I couldn't stop thinking about you. And...you don't know how good it feels to finally hear this from you."

Sabrina smiled and Devin showed a smile as well. He approached his girl. Now that he got everything off his chest, and Sabrina listened and accepted what he had to say, it was time to reclaim his queen. His real  Queen.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and held on tight. His lips collided into hers into a kiss of relief and deep love. Her hands wrapped around his neck to pull him closer to add more feeling to their reunion kiss. A kiss so passionate that an overwhelming feeling of happiness filled both of their spirits. Their kiss ended with a tight, loving hug as Sabrina's cheek rested into Devin's chest.
