The Desperate Reader is the type of reader who craves updates more than anything in life, and is prepared to hound writers for months about updates if they have to just to get an update. This type of reader can sometimes get on some writers' nerves with their never-ending requests for updates, however you have to admire their determination.
You'll find them trying to work out why books haven't been updated in months, getting in touch with the author on a regular basis, and basically feeling frustrated when they're left on a cliffhanger. Eventually this type of reader gets bored of waiting and finds another book to become invested in, but not before they've poured all their time and attention into one book.
