Stefan's arms are rested around my chest, and his head is pressed against mine. I turn over, now facing him. His eyes slowly open.
"Good morning..." he whispers. I open my mouth to reply, but I hear a different voice instead.
"Rise and shine, sleepyheads!" Damon shouts from the end of the bed. Stefan and I jolt up in surprise.
"Damon, what the hell?" Stefan shouts. Damon laughs.
"Don't be smutty-- we've got a long road ahead of us, now that we're working together as... friends." He announces in an egotistical fashion.
"If we're gonna get Katherine out of the tomb, we're gonna need Jonathan Gilberts notebook," he gestures over to Blake. "and since you're Blake GILBERT, you will be on journal duty." I roll my eyes.
"Since when am I helping?" I ask.
"Well, Stefan's helping, and since you've taken residency in his bed, you're now our number three." Stefan buds in.
"You don't have to do anything you done want to."
"I'll look for it today." Stefan turns back to Damon.
"How do we even know if the location of the grimoire is in this journal?" Stefan asks.
"We don't, but I have a feeling it is."
"Wait, what's a grimoire?" I question.
"It's a witch's cookbook." Damon jokes, I roll my eyes once again.
"It's where a witch documents their work, it's unique to themselves." Stefan says.
"Yeah, cookbook." Damon states. For once can he just dial down his ego?Stefan furrows his eyebrows, something's on his mind.
"What about Noah? I mean, he couldn't have been working alone, so there's someone out there who knows who we are."
"Exactly, and I don't like that disadvantage, so chop chop." Damon says as he claps his hands. Damon leaves and gives me and Stefan time to get dressed. Stefan grabs my hand.
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Please, I'll do anything to get Damon as far away from Mystic Falls as possible."I sit down next to Jeremy, and tap his shoulder.
"Yeah, what?" He still seems pretty focused on his video game.
"Have you seen Jonathan Gilbert's journal?" I ask. He doesn't respond, he just slams the buttons on his controller. I get up and unplug the tv.
"Hey, what the hell?" He yells.
"Where's the journal, Jer?" He sighs.
"I- I don't have it."
"What? Jeremy, that should be here! Who did you give it to?"
"Mr. Saltzman, I gave it to him, okay?" He gets up and walks away. I look over at Stefan.
"I've got it." He assures.
"Thank you."Damon whistles as he chops the lettuce over and over again. Every time he hits the board it makes me grit my teeth harder and harder.
"Are you trying to annoy me?" I ask. Damon smiles.
"Yes, I am finding lots of pleasure in it, just as much pleasure as I'm finding in this dinner." He stops cutting the lettuce. The room suddenly goes silent.
"Is it real?" He asks.
"Is what real?"
"Stefan's nude sense of brotherhood... can I trust him?" I hesitate to answer.
"Of course you can trust him, Damon." I manage to lie. I walk over to the table and set down a few plates. I turn around to see Damon right up by my face.
"Can I trust him?" He asks, staring into my eyes.
"I'm wearing vervain, Damon." He rolls his eyes.
"I'm not compelling you, Blake. I just want you to answer honestly."
"Like I said, you can trust him." This time, I was able to lie without hesitation. After dinner, Stefan shows up. I sigh once I see him enter the dining room.
"Nice if you to join us."
"Someone took the journal." Stefan announces.
"What?" Damon interrupts.
"What journal?" Elena asks.
"Long story." Damon says. Jeremy tries to walk by, I grab his arm.
"Jeremy, seriously, where's the journal." He growls.
"I gave it to Mr. Saltzman, I already told you! The only other person I told was Anna." I look at him confused.
"Anna?"
"She's this girl I met at the library, she's actually pretty cool." He begins to blush.
"Okay," Damon starts. "Jeremy and I will meet Anna at the grill, Jeremy... text her now. You three wait here." He grabs Jeremy and they leave. Elena looks at me and Stefan confused.
"What's going on here?" Stefan smiles.
"What's going on is that we fooled Damon. Ric Saltzman gave me a copy."After we fill Elena in on the plan, we go through the copy. Stefan quickly goes through the pages, only spending seconds on them. There was silence for minutes, but it was broken when Elena noticed something. She read it aloud. Emily had to trust her grimoire with someone no one would expect. That's just what she did. Stefan gives a small laugh.
"I know where the grimoire is."Stefan drove me across town to the Salvatore crypt. I look at all the graves, they're all so... old.
"I never knew this thing was here." I announce.
"That's because we are in the edge of town." Stefan says. I'm glad Elena stayed back to warm us when Damon got back, she'd be creeped out here. Stefan grabs a shovel and begins digging down into a grave. I look at the grave closely.
"Your father, the grimoire was buried with him?" Stefan nods. After a few minutes, Stefan pulls the grimoire out of the coffin. We both smile.
"We did it." I say. Suddenly, clapping comes from behind Stefan, I glance over.
"Well done, brother." It's Damon.
"You knew it was here, Anna told you." Stefan announces.
"That's not what I'm thinking about right now..." Damon begins. "right now, I'm thinking about how my brother betrayed me. I expected that from you." He suddenly glances over at me.
"I would've never expected that from you." I try not to make eye contact with him.
"So, your going to give me that grimoire or I'm going to rip Blake's heart out." My jaw drops, he's gonna kill me if Stefan doesn't do something.
"You wouldn't." Stefan announces. Damon vamp-runs to me and bites his wrist. I try to turn and run, but he grabs me and forces his blood into my mouth.
"Give me the grimoire, or I'll snap Blake's neck, and you'll have a vampire boyfriend." Stefan starts to look concerned.
"Not until he's back by my side."
"How do I know you won't just run away with it."
"You just did the one thing that ensures I won't." Damon's hand tightens around my neck. Stefan drops the grimoire by Damon's feet. He holds out his arms, Damon throws me into them. I hug Stefan harder than I think I ever had before. Stefan grabs me, then vamp-runs away.Stefan throws away the final blood stained tissue.
"You didn't have to help me clean vampire blood off of my mouth." I mumble.
"You're a pain." Stefan teases. I look down to see blood on my shirt.
"Dang it. I'm gonna go to change." I walk upstairs and into my room. I take off my shirt and put on a sweatshirt. I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn to see a girl standing behind me.
"It's time we get to business." She says in a serious tone. She pushes me back and I hit my head off my desk. She looks down at me, as everything becomes blurry.
"Night night, Mr. Gilbert."The chapters are definitely starting to get intense. I'm sorry for the lack of updates in this book. There will definitely be more now that school has ended and I have more free time. I hope you are all ready for an epic ride.
Also, there are moments in this story that could be very different then the actual episode. One reason may be because the situation is different because of different characters put in because the main character in this story is not the main character in the original series. Another reason could be that I had some interesting dialogue already determined for the part.
And with that, this chapter has ended. I hope you enjoyed. 😘
