I pull my house key out of pocket, and I slide it into the lock on my front door, my phone in between my head and shoulder. "Are you completely sure you didn't just leave it somewhere?" I ask Elena over the phone.

"Yeah, someone definitely took my stuff." I hear her freaking out on the other end of the phone.

"Okay, well just make sure you double check before you leave."

"Too late, I'm on my way to the hospital now." I drove by the accident, Tyler's crashed into a fence, and Matt and Caroline were with him, the only thing we know right now is that someone is in the hospital.

"Okay, I'll meet you there." I say before hanging up, and opening the door to go inside. I shut the door behind me, and walk over to the stairs. "Jeremy? You up?" I call up the stairs. I hear a loud clatter, in the kitchen. Not creepy at all. Despite how many terrible thoughts I have that it could be, like an intruder, I slowly make my way into the kitchen.

I see a pull of a red liquid on the ground. No matter how much I hope it's not blood, I peer around the counter, curious. I see John on the ground, bleeding out. There's a large kitchen knife on the ground, red with blood. I look at his hand for a sight of his ring, but his fingers have been chopped off. I grab paper towels off the counter, and begin pressing them down on him.

"What happened, John? Who did this?" He struggles, trying to speak. I grab the landline off the counter, and I quickly dial 9-1-1. I press it up to my ear, hearing the line ringing. "Come one." I say repeatedly under my breath, while applying pressure to John's wound.

"9-1-1, what's your emergency?" A woman ask over the phone. I panic through my sentence.

"Hi, I need an ambulance to 2104 Maple Street." I look down at John, as he looks behind me, with wide eyes.

"Behind... y-you." I quickly turn, around but no one is there. I look down at the knife on the floor, and I pick it up. I leave the phone on the counter, and I begin to make my way around the house. I walk up to the front door, peering up the steps. I fell a wave of air on my neck, I gasp and turn around. Nothing. I walk into the kitchen. I hear a loud swoosh, I quickly turn around watching as the door slams shut, very fast. It then hits me that Jeremy is home.

"Jeremy!" I call up the stairs. No reply. I drop the knife and run up the stairs, almost falling over multiple times. I open his door to see him lying on his bed. I shake him, but he's unresponsive. "Jeremy, wake up!" I shake him harder. "WAKE UP!" I shout, with a hard pound on his chest, as Jeremy wakes up, gasping for air.

I watch as the police wheel John's body out of our house. As much as I hate him, I can't help but want him to be okay. Stefan runs in, an officer stops him. "He's okay." I alert the officer, he lets go of Stefan. Stefan hugs me tight.

"Are you okay? What happened." I turn towards the stairs, alert Stefan to follow me. I lead him into Jeremy's room.

"Jeremy told me that Anna gave him her blood, and he took some pills so that he would die and become a vampire. And now... he looks fine, but then again so do you. So I just-- I don't know."
