By The Light Of The Moon

     Bonnie hands me the moonstone, as I closely examine it. I sigh, handing it back to her. She snatches it out of my hand.

     "So, now that you have it back, what are you gonna do with it?" I ask her.

     "Right now, it's what's binding the sun and moon curse. If I can figure out a way to remove the spell from the stone, the stone becomes useless." 

     "And according to Katherine, Klaus becomes vengeful." Elena buds in, leaning against the window. 

     "Maybe. If he finds out." Bonnie nods.

     "Bonnie, can't this wait? Stefan is stuck in the tomb with Katherine, we've got to get him out." Elena cries.

     "Stefan wants me to focus on this."

     "Well, don't listen to him."

     "Look, Elena. Bonnie will work on breaking the spell while I help Damon get Stefan out of the tomb. You're not helping us." I tell her for the millionth time. 

     "Why can't I help you and Damon?"

     "It's already been decided, Elena! I'm sorry, but we don't want you getting killed in some creepy ritual." Jeremy walks in behind us.

     "What are you guys arguing about?"

     "They're not arguing about anything." Bonnie shrugs. I sigh once again.

     "I need some coffee." I announce before leaving the room.

     Elena comes waltzing down the stairs as Bonnie and I stop her at the bottom. Elena looks at the both of us, clutching her keys tight in her hands.

     "Where are you going?" We ask her in unison.

     "To see Stefan."

     "You're lying." Bonnie gives her a smile of pity.

     "No I'm not." Elena looks away. She tries to step by me.

     "Really? Tell your face." I stop her.

     "Are you serious?"

     "She took the moonstone." Jeremy tells us as he walks down the stairs behind Elena.

     "How did you--"

     "We tested you," Bonnie cuts her off, "and you failed." Elena grits her teeth.

     "Klas killed Katherine's entire family just because she crossed him. I can't let that happen." I look over to Bonnie, she looks at me. We both step aside, allowing her to pass. She walks by us, confused, and goes straight for the door. She looks at us before going to walk outside, but hits the invisible barrier. She pounds on it, seeing if it is real.

     "What did you do?" She asks us.

     "It's for the best, Elena." Bonnie tells her.
