Jasmine

I flung open the door in a dramatic fashion and rushed to the top of the staircase. My eyes instantly locked on Sean’s and I felt my heart swell. He ran up the long steps and picked me up, And I felt my heart burst with happiness. I smiled when he started twirling me around . I was so happy I felt tears of relief fill my eyes. All of a sudden my heart started beating sporadically. It felt like it was trying to jump from my chest and my breathing became short and rapid . I clutched him as dizziness consumed me. I tried to steady myself but it only brought nausea. Blackness began to shade my eyes and the last thing I remember was falling into his arms. When I came to I saw Sean’s face and peace instantly comforted me.

“Hey Baby girl” he said kissing me softly on my forehead. I leaned up from the bed and the sudden movement made me dizzy. I shook my head willing the feeling to subside. I felt Sean sit next to me. He grabbed me and pulled me against his chest. His arms were protection and safety closing around me . Sean’s whole aura was calm and reassuring. I felt his strength beat in tune with his heart, and it strengthened me.

“Sean” I whispered squeezing him tighter I smelled his neck and inhaling his scent. He smelled so good and his warm body pressed against mine made my skin tingle. His dreads brushed against my skin enhancing the sensual feeling of his embrace.

“Don’t ever scare me like dat again” he said softly squeezing me tighter and I knew that he loved me and that I didn’t ever want lose him. I opened my mouth to respond but my stomach leered and I felt like I was going to vomit.

“Aahh” I moaned clutching my stomach. it felt like the room was spinning

“Wats da matter princess” Sean said worriedly. He released his grip some and looked at me. Concern furrowed his brow and his eyes searched mine franticly

Closing my eyes I took a deep breath and forced the sudden urge away. I had never felt this sick before and it made me nervous.

“Im callin a doctor” Sean said after a few moments of watching my pained breathing he gently laid me on the bed .

“There’s No need”

I turned and saw my mother walking toward me. She was still clad in her satin gown but her hair was fastened by a gold clasp.

“It’s just a case of pre-wedding jitters” she smiled warmly

“I had them too, … except I threw up all over your fathers shoes” she turned and looked at me.

“What” I said shockingly . But I was more surprised at her warmth and kindness. It felt like I was talking to another women. Not my cold tepid mother.

Sean chuckled lightly and I felt him relax.

“Olivia” my mother said with a controlled edge.

Immediately a young women walked in carrying a sterling silver tray with a crystal glass and small decorative tin on it. My mom walked over to Olivia and grabbed the glass and two huge white pills. Olivia eyed my mother silently cutting her eyes at her. I felt my stomach knot. And a weird sensation passed through my body.

“Here honey this will help settle your stomach” She handed me the water first and the pills second. I don’t know why the two pills felt heavier then the glass filled with water but it did.
