Request

I felt so alone now that I was back in my bed. I walked Enid home a little while ago and made my way here by myself. I couldn't sleep even though I knew I needed to get some rest.

I tossed and turned for a long time but upon hearing the front door open I stopped and pretended I was in a deep sleep.

The door clicked shut quietly and I heard someone get out from their bed.

Rick: "What the fuck Coral?! It's almost the next day! Where have you been?!"
Carl: "Well I tried to get some space from my dumb ass dad who constantly yells at me for no reason!"
Rick: "Listen here son, its been nothing but hell since we got here. I've had to juggle working, leading the group, meeting up with Dianne and looking after my damn daughter! The one simple thing I ask of you, you decide to not do!"
Carl: "Well maybe if you had asked me I would have done it!"
Rick: "I did ask you Coral! Maybe not personally but I had asked [Y/N] to tell you! If you wasn't such an incapable spoilt brat you wouldn't have to be asked you would just do it!"
Carl: "You know what?! Fuck you dad! You are a stupid deadbeat piece of shit and I'm not even glancing in your direction until you realise how much of a ass you have been!"

I heard the front door swing open and slam shut followed by loud bangs and rocks being thrown.

The sound of springs filled the room as Rick sat on his bed, he sighed loudly and swallowed.

Not wanting to have to get involved in any of the drama I simply fled to sleep.

The next day

???: [Y/N]... [Y/N]!! You need to wake up!!!"
I groaned and turned to face the brown haired angel leaning over me.
Enid: "Hey look I know you're awake so do me a favour and get ready! Rick said he needs you to meet with him at the armoury."

I felt the sheets being pulled from me and I grasped the air trying to pull them back over me.

Enid: "Come on! Get up!! You need to meet with him..."

She trailed off as another person entered the room.

Enid: "Oh, hi..."

Someone walked towards my bed and stood next to Enid.
I gently opened my eyes wanting to know who this strange person was.

Carl.

Carl: "I'm guessing she won't wake up?"
Enid: "No."

Enid glared at Carl as if she wanted to hit him (it wouldn't surprise me if she did.)

Carl: "Oi! [Y/N] come on! You don't want to leave your girlfriend waiting!"
Enid: "Look! We are fucking pissed of with you as it is so can you not call me that?!'

I sat up and hugged my legs.
I felt a little hurt by what Enid said but I understood why at the same time.

Carl: "What have I done?!"
You: "Look Carl just back off a second we could really do without you mocking us right now...
Carl: "Yeah alright... whatever work for you I guess..."

He walked away with Enid's eyes following him as he left.
She looked at me with a beaten expression.

Enid: "Look, I need to talk to you later but for now you've gonna go see Rick so when you are done I need you to come meet me at the lake, okay?"

I nodded my head and began getting changed. Enid kissed the top of my head and started to leave.

Enid: "Just don't be too long okay? I really want to spend some time with you..."

I smiled at her as my body filled with warmth. She wanted to see me! Enid, the girl who not so long ago would hardly even talk to me. She wanted to see... me!?

When she was gone I quickly celebrated alone. Then carried on getting dressed.

Time Skip

I made it to the armoury reasonably quickly and was greeted by a pale faced Rick he had bags under his eyes and his waterline was a dark red colour.

I walked up to him a little uneasy by his appearance.

You: "Hey Rick, umm... is everything okay?"
Rick: "Oh yeah, yeah all fine... So I see Enid passed the message?"
You: "Oh yeah she came by this morning and uh... Carl was there too."

Rick scratched the stubble on his cheek and looked really uncomfortable.

You: "Look Rick, are you sure everything is okay?"

I think he must have began daydreaming because when I spoke it was as if he jumped to bring his attention back to the real world.

Rick: "Umm.. yeah, yeah uh.. so yeah about Coral ummm.."
You: "Yeah what about him?"

Rick bit the nail on his thumb and cleared his throat.

Rick: "CanyougotothepartywithhimbecauseIthinkhehatesme."
You: "Wait, wait what on earth did you say?"
Rick: "Uh erm... Canyougoto."
You: "Rick, no say it in English please I can't understand a thing you are saying!"

He stumbled on the spot and cleared his throat again.

Rick: "Can. You. Go. To. The *cough* Party. With. Carl. Because I think he hates me."

I wondered if Rick had taken some kind of drug because I literally had no clue what he was taking about.

You: "Um.. Rick, what party?"
Rick: "Oh didn't Enid tell you?"
You: "No I haven't heard anything mention about a party."

I wondered if maybe I had not heard her say about it but I just didn't remember.

Rick: "Well Dianne is throwing a late house warming party type thing."
You: "Oh um... sounds fun."
Rick: "Sooo? Would you please go with him?"

Without thinking I just nodded it wouldn't be the end of the world, it's not like Enid would have gone with me anyway.
