Waking Up in the Real World

Chapter 3

They all looked at me, obviously confused about something.

"You mean there's something other than bread and potatoes?!" Eren said excitedly.

"Of course!" I opened the pantry and stood back as they all stared in wonder at my food museum.

"Can we really eat this stuff?" Moblit asked hesitantly.

"Sure! I can make you guys some pasta, garlic bread, and cookies if you want."

"I have no idea what any of that is but it sounds amazing!" Hanji exclaimed.

"Are you sure we can eat all that for breakfast?" Levi questioned.

"Why not? It's Saturday, so we can pretty much do whatever we want."

"Okay, then that sounds great! Let's eat!"

I grabbed the spaghetti, tomato sauce, and seasonings and got to work, ordering them to sit at the table while I took care of the food.

Putting a pot with water in it on the stove and turning it on, I left the water to boil and sat down with them.

"Soooo... What do you think of the house? It's not too big, but I think it will work for all of us-"

"It's disgusting."

"Then maybe I'll leave you alone to clean it today while Hanji, Eren, Moblit and I try to find some other clothes."

"Something other than a uniform? What kind of things do cool people wear here?" Eren asked.

"I don't know what cool people wear, but I can show you what I have later. Not all of my clothes are too girly, so I'm sure we can find something for you all."

Water began to bubble on the stove.

I got up, put the pasta in, then sat back down.

"Oh, and there's another two members of the family you have to meet!"

"[Dog's name]!" I called. [He/she] came bounding towards us at the table.

"This is my dog, [D/n]. They're friendly, don't worry."

"Filthy."

"Aww, they're so cute!" Hanji jumped down from her seat and hugged the dog tightly. I left her alone for a minute while I stirred the noodles and put the sauce in a separate pot.

I smiled down at Hanji as the dog licked her face.

I scooped some of the cooked spaghetti into five bowls and passed them around the table with sauce, cheese, and garlic bread.

They all stared down at the food in astonishment.

"C-can we really eat this?" Eren asked hesitantly.

"Yep! Dig in!"

I took a bite, trying to assure everyone it was okay.

Eren took a bite first.

"Mmmmmm... I bet even the king doesn't eat food this good."

Seeing his reaction, the others ate a small bit as well. Each with the same response.

Once we all finished, Levi got to work cleaning the kitchen.

"C'mon guys, let's see what I can find for you to wear."
