Waking Up in the Real World

Chapter 8

We all watched as Survey Corps. soldiers stormed through the forest taking out titans.

Hanji cheered as she saw herself on the screen on a horse behind Erwin.

Then, the moment we've all been waiting for:

The theme song started.

"SIE SIND DAS ESSEN, NEIN WIR SIND DIE JEAGER!" I screamed, startling Jean on my right.

I sang to the rest of the theme song. Jean smirked when he did the backflip thing and Eren congratulated himself on the titan kill.

"Figures titan boy can only kill titans in the theme song," Jean laughed.

"Shut up, Horseface!" Eren retaliated.

"Would both of you please just be quiet? I can't understand the song," Moblit asked.

"Actually, the song is in a different language. So you wouldn't be able to understand it anyways," I corrected.

"Languages?" Hanji asked inquisitively.

"Yeah. Like people have different words that mean the same thing depending on your origins or knowledge."

"Do you know what the words mean?" Levi asked.

"Of course! Are we the prey, no we are the hunter! Our names won't be remembered if we die like trampled flowers~" I sang, going on until I completed the song translation I found on YouTube.

They all seemed impressed.

I pressed play.

On the screen, a nine year old Eren had woken up from his nightmare in a field. Mikasa quickly ran over to him.

I chose to watch the dubbed instead of subbed version because it would be easier to listen to and pay attention to the animation as opposed to focusing on the reading, even if the voice actors were equal.

When Eren touched his cheek, everyone except Levi just about died laughing.

"Why is it so dramatic?" Jean asked through fits of giggles.

"That's what anime is. It emphasizes character."

Eren and Mikasa walked up to Hannes on the TV. Levi rolled his eyes at the obvious disrespect the Garrison held for the citizens and titans.

After the duo had walked past, Eren began his little spiel about the Survey Corps. and grabbed Mikasa's hand as they ran to watch the soldiers return.

"You wanted to join the Recon Corps. when you were nine?" Levi asked Of Eren.

"Uh, yeah."

"Very respectable. And idiotic."

Eren blushed at the masked compliment.

I paused as they reached the gate to watch the soldiers return, hearing footsteps.

"Erwin?"

This might be the only upload today. I'm kinda going crazy and may need to be baker acted. We'll see. But if I don't upload in a few days, that's why.
