I stared up at Jean with a smile. I don't recall ever seeing him in this light before.
But I had to ask the question that truly mattered.
"I thought you were gay for Marco?"
He blushed a deep red almost instantly.
"That was a small crush in our Trainee days. I think I've gotten over it," he said moving closer.
This whole time I've been trying to get Jean and Marco together, but what if I loved Jean? Could I really hurt Marco like that? It would be such an asshole move, but...
"I don't know if I can do this, Jean. Marco is in love with you."
His eyes widened in shock.
"Well, he's not here, is he?"
Someone cleared their throat behind us; it sounded like they were stifling tears.
"Marco!"
