Waking Up in the Real World

Chapter 21 (version Levi)

The two of us strutted to the gym and exited through the back doors of the school, Levi holding the door for me.

 He still had an arm around my waist as he led us to the meeting spot.

Seconds later, the bullies were in sight.

But there were more than eight.

1, 2, 3, 4... 15?! How could there be 15 people here just to beat the two of us up. Why did they even care?

I thought Levi may be able to take on eight of the teenagers, but 15? That might be a little much even for Humanities Strongest.

Levi quickly reassessed the situation and held me closer to him.

"You boys ready?" Levi asked.

"Obviously," Ryan responded. "We only came to hurt her, we don't want to cause any bystander injuries if we don't have to. So this is your warning to step away, short man."

I could feel Levi tense up next to me.

"Bring it on, asshole."

He left my side to assume a typical fighting position, one that he didn't use very often. He must have some sort of plan here.

All 15 of them charged us at once. There was no way he could fend them all off and away from me alone.

With one sweep of his foot, three boys were down. Nathan and a few others were smart enough to go around either side of Levi to get to me.

I ran. Fast. Like Sanic.

Half of me wanted to go back and help out while the other half just wanted to keep on running. I decided to listen to my head rather than my heart and run a full circle around the building.

Unfortunately, I was out of shape and had to stop when I was nearing the battle scene again.

I got back to find Levi held back by Ryan and the others looking at me smugly as they stood next to him.

It didn't take long for them to grab me and hold me back so I was staring at Levi.

"I'm so sorry, Levi!" I shouted.

"I've had worse thanks to you."

Well ouch.

Jake pulled something out of his backpack. Shit! It's my diary!

"Let's have some fun, shall we?"

Please don't leave the story! I know this could be cliche and stuff, but this idea has been circling in my head for so long I just had to incorporate it in somewhere. Things will get better.
