I put the piece of art back in my backpack. I laid down on my bed.
"So, what to you suggest we do now?" I asked of Eren.
He shrugged and laid down next to me. We both just stared at the ceiling for what felt like hours, but could have only been seconds. Eren turned his head to face me.
"What's the purpose of life here?"
"Oh gosh, Eren. Way to get all philosophical, you may trigger an existential crisis."
"Heh, sorry. It's just... Back in my world I knew what my purpose was: 'kill all the titans.' Here, however, I don't know. What do you think our purpose is?"
"Well, I think everyone decides their own purpose. This girl I used to know, Rachel, drempt of becoming a bestselling author of fan fiction. That might be her purpose, but mine might be different. Mikasa's purpose will always be to protect you. I think my purpose is to just make other people happy."
"Wow. That's a nice way of thinking about it. What do you think my purpose is?"
"I'm not sure. Find someone you love, start a family, the usual. Just find your own version of it."
"I was always too busy with the titan thing to think about love. Now I don't know what to think." I felt the bed shift as he turned completely so he was on his side facing me. "What should I do?"
I turned too. "Try it out. Who knows what you'll find."
He scooted towards me awkwardly. "Can I?"
I realized what he meant. "Go for it."
He kissed me hesitantly at first. He probably still wasn't sure about his feelings for me. I mean, I did through him into the mouth of a titan.
"Eren!"
"Armin?! Mikasa?!"
