POV: Char

"That was awesome!" Seth shouted as he stepped of the ride. He was acting just like a little kid. Not to mention that those were his exact words every time we stepped of an 'epic' ride. We had gone on at least ten by now.

I couldn't help but laugh, "It was!"

Daniel smiled weakly, "Yeah."

"Are you okay?" Avalie looked at him concerned.

"Yeah, but I think I should sit down. I'm wiped out," He did look exhausted.

"Do you want us to sit with you?" Avalie looked at him guiltily.

"No way! You guys have some more fun!" He tried to sound upbeat.

"Okay...well we're only going to go on a couple more," Avalie assured him.

"Okay, get me when you're done," Daniel said waving us off.

As we headed towards another ride, Avalie hurried over to me. "I feel terrible for leaving Daniel!"

"I know," I sighed, "It must be hard for him. Don't worry too much about it though, he was definitely drained. I don't think he could do another ride."

She nodded hurrying us toward another scary-looking ride. Avalie definitely knew how to have a birthday party.

~~~
Popcorn was in the microwave and we were about to start a movie. Elle had gone to bed awhile ago, requesting that we stay as quiet as possible. We didn't want to wake Drew.
We were watching 'Amityville Horror'. It was supposedly really good. I was a sucker for scary movies. I loved them, no matter how many times I screamed.
I was cuddled up next to Seth on the couch, and it felt amazing. He smelled so good, the way boys always seem to. When I jumped at a scary part, he laughed quietly. I giggled and punched him lightly on the shoulder.
He wrapped his arms tightly around me, kissing my forehead. "You're so adorable when you get scared," His sweet voice game me chills.
I leaned up to kiss him lightly, "Shut up," I teased.
We were sharing a large armchair and a big soft blanket. Everyone else was on the couch, Avalie was crammed between the two boys. Typical. The boys always adored her, in a big sister way. They seemed to follow everything she said.
Daniel was out, he didn't even make it through the first five minutes of the movie. Poor guy, he was always trying to hold up a strong mask.
Avalie and Zach were crammed next to each other. Every time something creepy happened, Avalie would start slapping Zach's leg. It was pretty funny to watch. Then they would start cracking up, until we eventually shushed them.
POV: Zach
Avalie began her rounds of slapping once again.
"Cut it out! You're going to leave bruises!" I chuckled, slapping her hand away.
"That was scary!" She protested.
"Why don't you slap Daniel now?" I pushed her lightly.
"He's sleeping! That would be mean!" Avalie looked at me with mock horror.
I had decided I like Avalie better as a friend instead of a girlfriend. She was easy to be around, not to mention beautiful. Still, I just didn't think of her like that. She was also the only person I had trusted with my secret.
Char.
I hated myself, but I couldn't help wishing that it was me sitting where Seth was. How could I have let someone who I truly thought was perfect for me, slip through my fingers like that?
Seth was a lucky guy.
-If he hurts her, I'll kill him!
Who says she wouldn't get hurt being with you?-
It was true, we'd had our chance, and it crashed and burned. I don't know much about fate, but doesn't that mean something? If it failed then maybe it's not meant to be.
-What if I don't want that to be true?-
Because seeing Char over there was too much. I just wanted her to give me a chance to show her that I could love her. If she would just give me a chance...
~~~

Everything was perfect. She was sitting on my lap. She would giggle and I would kiss her lightly. Everywhere. Her cheeks, her lips, her hair.

She turned to me and smiled, "Guess what Zach?"

I raised my eyebrows, "What?"

"I-"

A crash from the movie jolted me awake. It all sunk in.

-Shit. It was a dream.

Don't act surprised! Like you have a chance of that dream coming true!-

My head voice was right, it was hopeless. Nothing more than wishful thinking.

Real Char was still over in that chair all cozied up with Seth. I wished that there had been enough time for Dream Char to finish her sentence.

'I-'

I what?

-Probably 'I will never be with you so give up already.'

Probably.-

Before I knew it, the credits from the second movie were rolling across the screen.

Avalie pulled away from me and stood up, "You guys ready to go to sleep?" Seth and I nodded, Char and Daniel were already asleep.

Seth shook Char awake gently, and kissed her on the forehead. She smiled at him, then followed Avalie off to Eve's room.

Seth and I decide to just let Daniel sleep on the couch. He looked perfectly comfortable, no reason to wake him up.

"So it looks like you're finding Char pretty amazing," I said to Seth as we settled into the guest room.

"Oh yeah, she's something." He smiled and turned away to fall asleep.

"Something I wish was mine," I whispered so quietly I could barely hear it myself.

He likes her soooo much! But she's with Seth! Do you think that Zach should get another shot with Char? Or should he just give up because she obviously chose Seth? I mean he had his chance! And who is Avalie perfect for? I'm really hoping you guys can get this book to 900 reads! So close! I get so excited when I see the reads go up! So please!
