"Jonathan, you must be deadly and remember to keep your guard up while in battle!" Valentine yelled at him, Jonathan was in the middle of training with Mia, who he would always admit in his head, but never aloud, was quite beautiful and very much a challenge during training.
"Father why do you yell at Jonathan so much, but you do not treat Jace quite as harsh?" The girl asked, she was now standing by the window that overlooked the valley, drinking a water, her golden/silver eyes never leaving his father.
Valentine kept a straight face. "Mia you will not ask such childish questions of me, it is none of your business on how I raise you children." Valentine was walking closer and closer with his hands behind his back, Jonathan couldn't help but painfully watch, he didn't want to see Mia get hurt like he did almost daily, but Valentine was now standing directly in front of Mia, and he stood there before he slapped her across the face, making her wince and hold the side of her face. "Mia Layla Herondale you will not speak of the other Jonathan around here, while you train, you will not mention him and the different ways I raise you children. Do you understand?" Valentine asked calmly as Mia glared at him harshly.
"Yes." She grumbled. "Excuse me, while I take a break." She growled as she stormed out of the training room. Jonathan immediately followed her, trying to figure out where the girl might have went off to. He figured she'd go to the stables, where her horse was. Jonathan ran to the stables and walked inside.
"Mia!" Jonathan yelled.
"Go away Jonathan." Jonathan almost felt sad when he heard the sadness laced in her voice.
"Mia, where are you?" Jonathan asked.
"Where do you think I am?" She asked the boy who was already heading to the stall of her horse. Jonathan opened the stable door and there Mia was, sitting on a bench, her back to the wall and her head leaned back as she closed her eyes. Jonathan could see the faintest of a smile as she opened her eyes, golden/silver eyes meeting his black eyes.
"Boo!" Jonathan yelled and Mia looked at him as she laughed.
"Is that supposed to scare me Jonathan?" She had a look of pure amusement, her eyes sparkling in excitement.
Jonathan shrugged, "It would've scared any other person. With the blood that runs in my veins and all." He spoke as he went to sit next to her.
She smiled at him and looked down at the ground, the smile vanishing as quickly as it had appeared moments ago. "It runs in my veins too, remember." She spoke and Jonathan nodded, how could he forget, he loved how unique she was, in her veins she had the blood of Lilith and Asmodeus, along with an equal amount of Raziel and Ithuriel, she had the perfect mixture of blood. That's what Jonathan admired most about her, she was beautiful and soft hearted, like an angel, but also dark and deadly, like a demon, like him.
"That's what makes you special." He said and she looked up.
"Special?" She asked with a smirk.
Jonathan immediately froze. "Well unique." He corrected, and she smiled.
"Thanks." She shrugged. "Hey Jonathan?" She spoke as a question. He looked up, and she was close, her face only inches from his. Jonathan rarely got nervous, but here he was, nervous as ever. It only took a second, before their lips met, and they were sharing the most innocent of kisses. Jonathan, was at a loss for words, and actions. He didn't know what to do besides, kiss her back. he only hoped that she didn't think of him as a bad kisser, since he had never kissed anyone before, but he wouldn't deny that he didn't at least enjoy the feeling. The moment ended as soon as Valentine barged into the stables, Mia and Jonathan stumbled away from each other in a heartbeat.
"Mia! Jonathan!" His father roared angrily. The boy hoped his father wouldn't find them, but as Jonathan sat there knowing the consequences, Valentine opened the stall door finding the two children sitting there on either side of the stall. He charged toward Mia, Jonathan panicked, and he stood up, as Valentine grabbed the girl harshly by her arm and dragged her.
"Mia I want you to leave, you know your way back to the manor!" Valentine yelled at Mia who sat on the floor with a blank face. Jonathan watched in horror as his father kicked the girl onto the porch, and pulled her up harshly before pushing her away from the mansion
"Mia!" Jonathan cried out as she slowly stood up, glaring at Valentine, before she walked away. He wanted to go after her, but his father had a steel grip on his arm, before everything went black.
Jonathan shot up, he looked around frantically, catching only a glimpse of the face of a girl as he panicked. "Sebastian?" Jonathan heard and he froze, he looked to his left where he saw Mia, the real Sebastian Verlac's girlfriend, his long lost training partner.
"Mia." He stumbled off of the bed, and stood up, 5 feet away from the bed, where the girl sat up, confused.
"Sebastian what's wrong?" She asked, as she got off of the bed slowly.
Jonathan was panicking, he didn't know what to do, here was the girl he had just had a dream of, a memory, he knew her. "He didn't kill you," Jonathan spoke aloud, almost in relief, and Mia looked even more confused.
"What?" She started, "Sebastian what's going on?" She asked clearly dumbfounded.
Jonathan shook his head, and with long strides, made his way over to her, and pulled her into a kiss. She didn't hesitate to kiss back though, and he was glad. Until he remembered why, and he quickly pulled away, stepping back. "You don't remember me?" Jonathan asked hiding the pain and fear of her not remembering.
"Sebastian what are you talking about?" She really was confused.
"It's me Jonathan."
"Sebastian, why would you think you're Jonathan? Have you ever even met Jonathan?" She asked and Jonathan froze, maybe she did remember.
"Jonathan, Clary's brother." Jonathan spoke.
"I know who Jonathan is, Valentine used to make us train together before I got on Valentines bad side, that's when he sent Jace and I to the institute in New York."
Jonathan was shocked that she remembered. "Mia it's me, it's Jonathan, I'm undercover."
"Sebastian my love you should go back to sleep, I think you're hallucinating." She said, as she pulled Jonathan back to the bed. He felt mad, and hurt by the fact that she didn't believe him. He nodded sadly as he laid back down on the bed. She turned off the lights, and went back to sleep, while Jonathan stayed wide awake, admiring Mia, and going through the long ago memories with her. His mission now, was to convince Mia, to believe him and stay with him through the things that were going to happen in the course of these next couple of days.
