Wait For The Host Of Hell To Arrive

  Running through the currently demon filled streets of the glass city was not the only worry of 10 year old Max Lightwood, he was also weaponless, and alone. He was also stuck searching for his older brother, Alec, who had specifically told him to stay at the Penhallow residence with Mia, Isabelle, and Sebastian. But for some reason Mia had sent him through a portal to find Alec and that was all she had said, Max could not shake the feeling that something was definitely wrong, just thinking back to how Mia had seemed so on edge sent a feeling of fear through the young lightwood.

   "Max?"

   Quickly turning around, Max was shocked to see Jace standing with Clary just a few feet away. Gathering his thoughts he quickly subtracted the space between him and his brother, all of the worry from before faded away because now he was safe with Jace. Jace would protect him from anything. "Mia sent me through a portal to find Alec but I found you and Clary first so Mia should be happy either way."

    "Mia sent you through a portal? From where? And why?" Jace questioned

    Max shrugged. "From the Penhallow home."

    Jace seemed to understand but Max could see it was in a different way. "Well the Hall of Accords is a little ways from here, Clary and I will take you there but when we get there you go and start searching for mom and dad."

   Max nodded."Are you and Clary going to make sure that Izzy and Mia are okay?"

   Jace looked at him worry, and confusion all over his expression. "Why wouldn't they be okay Max?"

   Max shrugged."I mean Mia did send me alone through a portal, and Sebastian was acting a little weird."

   "When has Sebastian not been acting weird?" Jace muttered.

   "Well Mia did seem pretty on edge around him, it kind of seemed like she might have known something that no one else did because right after Izzy went upstairs to get her stele, she pulled me to the kitchen, made a portal and told me to find Alec, but she seemed more worried about me than anything else."

   Jace nodded and looked up just as Alec appeared next to him, breathless and a bloody mess, eyes bright with a mixture of relief and anger. Grabbing Jace by the front of his jacket. "What happened to you?"

   Jace looked affronted."What happened to me?"

   Alec shook him, not at all lightly."You said you were going for a walk! What kind of walk takes six hours?"

  "A long one?" Jace suggested.

  "I could kill you," Alec said, releasing his grip on Jace's clothes."I'm seriously thinking about it."

   "That would kind of defeat the point, though, wouldn't it?" said Jace.

    Then Alec noticed Max."Where is everyone? Isabelle, Mia, and Sebastian?"

    "Max said that Mia sent him to find you when we found him earlier." Jace answered for Max. "Where's mom and dad?"

    "On their way over there right now to get them and they are going to worry because Max is here. Max why did Mia send you through that portal?" Alec's voice was urgent.

     "I don't know, she just told me to find you."

     Alec nodded."Guess we'll just have to find out when she gets here."

Note: So sorry for the latest update ever and possibly the shortest one...... Thank you to those of you that have tried to patiently wait, I have been super busy but I will have another update by either tonight or tomorrow hopefully so here is one for now.....
