Jace flung himself at Jonathan, missing as the more experienced one darted aside and caught Jace's knife arm as it descended. The knife clattered to the ground, and then Jonathan had Jace by the back of his jacket, lifting him and flung him. Jace flew through the air, hit the wall of the garden with bone-cracking force and crumpled to the ground. Mia had to decide if she was going to beat the crap out of Jonathan or go make sure Jace was okay before slapping him for pulling a move like that. Clary ran at Jonathan and ended up on the floor. Mia ran to Jace's side and quickly drew an iratze to semi heal his wounds. Then she went towards Jonathan as he strided towards Alec. Alec let his notched arrow fly and in no way astonishing to Mia of course, Jonathan moved and the arrow was lodged in the trunk of a tree as Jonathan wrenched the bow out of Alex's grasp and cracked it in half. Jonathan tossed the shattered halves of the bow aside and closed in on Alec as Mia went for Jonathan at inhuman speed and threw him away from Alec.
"Back off!" Mia yelled, but Jonathan got up, wiped his bloody lip, and charged towards her. Alec tossed a seraph blade her way and she caught it. Jonathan stopped in his tracks and then pulled out his own weapon.
"Just like old times." said Jonathan with a wicked grin on his face as they started fighting. It brought Mia back to her combat training. She knew all of his weak spots and he knew hers. It was an even fight. Mia couldn't kill him but she could injure him, so that's what she did, but he had to keep it real in order to keep her safe from being questioned. He had to make it look real,so he stole her blade and since it wasn't blazing he edged it deep into the side of her arm. Mia cried out in pain and glared at Jonathan as he let her fall to the ground from the excruciating pain. She slumped down on her knees trying to rip the blade from her arm as Jonathan went after Alec again. Alec pulled out a seraph blade but after multiple attempts Jonathan had him by his throat, nearly lifting him off his feet. He squeezed mercilessly, viciously, grinning as Alec choked and struggled. "Lightwood," he breathed but he never continued. Mia had ripped the damn blade out and threw it at Jonathan. It was a lousy throw that ended up in Jonathan's side but luckily, Simon had latched himself onto Jonathan aggressively, latched onto his throat as Jonathan clawed at him. Alec slumped to the ground, his hands at his throat, desperate for breath. Mia went to Alec's side but Alec shook his head as if telling her that he would be fine. She looked over to see Jonathan deliver two hard kicks to Simon's rib cage. Simon doubled over. "You foul little tick." Jonathan snarled, drawing his foot back for another blow.
"Sebastian!" She yelled and he froze, locking eyes with her. She shook her head. "Don't." she stood up and made her way towards him.Jonathan
Jonathan was at a loss for words, actions, he didn't know what to do. He couldn't kill Mia, but he also couldn't just make it seem like she was special to him in any way. Love was a weakness, especially if the enemies knew who you loved. "Mia you know I can't."
She sighed. "If you ever really cared about me or loved me. You wouldn't." those words were accompanied by a look that took him back through memories of everything he did with her.
He wanted to stop for her. But there was no going back now. He stepped over the leech and started towards her. "I wouldn't," said a quiet voice. Damn these annoying fools. There stood the golden boy, bloody face, swollen eye nearly shut, and a blazing seraph blade steady in his hand. "I've never killed a human being with one of these before," said Jace. "But I'm willing to try."
Jonathan locked eyes with Mia before saying something only she would understand and then he disappeared from their view into the darkness.
