Isabelle

Isabelle listened as Clary and Simon helped explain what had happened to the Inquisitor. Then she realized something. "Where's Mia?"
Jace shrugged. "Said she needed some fresh air that she was going out for a while."
That seemed to remind Clary of something. "Oh right. Aline came by and she showed us a picture of Sebastian that his aunt sent after she heard what he had done, and the boy in the picture looks nothing like the Sebastian we met." Clary explained as she showed Jace, Alec, and Isabelle a picture of Mia and a boy who in a way resembled the boy they had met but seemed less dark and much less likely to be in league with Valentine.
"Mia looks so happy with him here." Alec said as him and Jace looked over the picture.
"That's because she was." Isabelle said as she remembered how her parabatai would talk about her boyfriend so much. She realized now that those descriptions barely matched the Sebastian they had met.
"She always seemed at war with herself when the fake Sebastian was around." Clary suddenly spoke.
"Guys. What if she knew him though?" Simon suddenly asked the dreadful question.
Isabelle shook her head quickly. "No. My parabatai isn't working with Valentine. She would never do that."
Jace seemed to be battling with his thoughts. "Before we start saying anything like that. We need to ask her, no one goes to the council. Do we have an agreement?" Jace asked in a tone that got the point across perfectly. No one would go until they had proof and Mia said something. They wouldn't rat out their family like that. Mia was family even if she was an Herondale.

Mia

Mia sat on the porch of the mansion she almost completely grew up in. Not the one she lived in with Jace, but the one she lived in with Jonathan. All of those memories and those haunting moments. She loved it here but she hated it here. She felt like this was where it all started. If she would have just fought back. She was so lost in her thoughts that when she heard a twig snap she thought she was imagining it until she looked up to lock eyes with the one person she didn't want to see but longed for anyways. "Jonathan." She muttered quietly.
Slowly and cautiously he made his way towards her. She gripped the hilt of her sword that hung across her back but at the same time told herself to breathe and leave the weapons for an actual threat. But was he a threat to her? Could she trust him still? She suddenly removed her hand from the hilt as he went to stop at the bottom of the staircase. His eyes softened. "Mia, my love. Please. I need you to understand right now please. I know I may not be your favorite person at the moment but I need my best friend. I need the girl I fell in love with."
Mia froze. Jonathan in love? That can't be possible. "Stop." she commanded and Jonathan sighed.
"Mia you are ma meilleure moitié. I can't be who I feel like I should be without you on my side too. I know I don't deserve it but I need it Mia, I really do."
Mia silently cursed. "As long as you agree to be the Jonathan I know."
"When I'm with you that's all I ever want to be." he said smiling as he ran up the rest of the steps and she stood up. He pulled her into a hug and Mia felt like she was home, like she was where she always was meant to be. "I'm sorry for all of the horrible things I have done." he whispered and Mia looked up to meet his eyes that were suddenly green.
She blinked and as soon as she had seen it, it had disappeared and his eyes were back to the normal obsidian black everyone else always saw. She hadn't seen him with green eyes since they were younger. It would always happen that way. It would only be there for a second before it went back. He looked at her confused.
"Are you okay?" he asked and she nodded.
"Yea, sorry. Hey how about we go explore our old home just for the hell of it?" she asked and Jonathan smiled.
He grabbed her hand and they walked into the house like nothing. Mia ran straight to her favorite room and Jonathan followed. She sat at the piano and Jonathan came in a minute later smirking when she started playing as horrible as he did when they first met. But then she started playing the way Jonathan knew she could and Mia watched in fascination as Jonathan got lost in the music. It made her smile. He had his eyes closed so Mia had her chance to run to the training room like she had planned. Quickly and swiftly she made her way out of the music room and down to the training room everything was covered in dust but it was exactly how she remembered. All of the weapons lined across the walls, the glass windows that she always loved to look out of before and after practice. The view still the same. Though the moment was short lived as Jonathan made his way in. "Coming into this room was always hard for me after you left. Until Valentine told me about Sebastian that's when I knew you had forgotten me so I let myself get caught up in training and being someone else. I didn't think about you after that, this house served no purpose to me, no memories. It was like you never existed, how I lived like that for so long, I don't know. But now that I think about it I guess it wasn't living but just existing. I don't want to just exist anymore. I want to live, the rest of my life. With you by my side."
"Jonathan. Don't start becoming so soft." Mia teased as she moved forward and lightly pressed her lips to his. She knew he was smirking as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"You're such a tease," Jonathan muttered against her lips.
Mia smiled and moved away slowly to the far side of the wall so that she could get a weapon. "Catch." she said as she tossed a sword to Jonathan and he caught it effortlessly, pointing it in her direction.
"You. Will not beat me this time." he said and Mia scoffed.
"We'll see about that." she teased playfully as she held up her sword and they went at it. A couple of minutes in and they both stood with their swords in hand.
"You really are my match."
Mia smiled and looked at the ground. "That's what you think." she said before she caught him off guard and stole his sword from him.
He had his back to the wall and one sword pointed at his heart the other pointed at his throat. "Well, I guess I spoke too soon." he smirked before somehow stealing both weapons from Mia and letting them both fall to the ground as he instead captured her lips.
Mia shook her head as Jonathan smiled as if he had achieved something so great. "Why are you smiling like that, Morgenstern?"
He smirked but Mia could tell that he was holding back. "It's funny because I heard that you wouldn't allow Sebastian to kiss you until he managed to sweep you off your feet and surprise you with a kiss. But here I am, not even officially your boyfriend and I have kissed you multiple times while we have been here and you haven't once tried to stop me."
"Maybe. I don't want to. Haven't you noticed that you are the one to first pull away. I may tease, but you could just as easily pull me back in. But you don't. Now if you'd like I could make you wait like I did with Sebastian, but I have a feeling you wouldn't want that. Also you probably wouldn't mind what I say, you'd most likely do it anyways." she shrugged as she walked out of the training room and to her old bedroom where she noticed she had left some things behind. As expected, Jonathan came in after. Mia lifted her head up as he came in but made it seem as if the book she was holding was much more interesting while she sat at the edge of her old bed. She knew Jonathan despised not being the center of attention when he walked into a room and that he would do something to grab her attention. That something was closing the book and lifting her chin up so that her eyes met his.
"You are absolutely right. I wouldn't mind what you say." he said as his eyes darkened and Mia smirked.
She loved when Joanthan was sweet and different than how he usually portrayed himself as, but she couldn't help but love his dark side as well. The next kiss they shared made Mia feel so much more connected to the world than she ever felt. She let her guard down and they spent some time there in that room. Together and feeling like nothing in the world could be better. They were heaven and hell as one.
