Mia froze, "Kiss?" She pretended, "What kiss?"
Valentine glared at her, "Don't play me as a fool, Ms. Herondale, I can end your life as quickly as I did with your parents." He mocked.
That hit something inside of Mia as she glared at him with her sword stretched out to the tip of his neck. "Do not speak of my parents, you do not have the right, you killed them because you are a psychopath that loves to kill everyone against you."
Valentine laughed, "I kill those, who fail to believe, that the clave is no longer meant to stand for shadowhunters. They take away the true meaning of being a shadowhunter, have the downworlders believing we are equal." He snarled.
Mia laughed, "My boyfriend before Sebastian, was a vampire, how does that make you feel?"
"Surprised that you would go that low," Valentine sneered.
Mia laughed. "Why Raphael was such a gentleman, I'm sure you would have approved if he was a Shadowhunter, am I right?"
Valentine laughed in a twisted way, "Even then, I'm not so sure, I would think you'd rather go for a more handsome gentleman such as Jonathan. But wait you already have, right before Sebastian came along and stole your desperate heart. You did not love the Parisian Shadowhunter, you merely used him because of his close resemblance to Jonathan."
Mia smiled, "Is that what you push yourself to believe?"
"That is what I know, Ms. Herondale."
Mia rolled her eyes, "Well you're wrong."
Valentine raised an eyebrow. "Am I really?" And then he disappeared and Mia growled.
*Back at the Penhallows*
Mia noticed Izzy sitting on the couch in the living room of the Penhallows. "Sebastian here?"
Izzy shook her head, "Nope, he left this morning, hasn't come back yet. But you should know that Clary has taken a liking to him." And that caught Mia's attention.
"What kind of liking?"
"More than a friend liking, that's for sure." Izzy shrugged as she admired her nails.
Mia laughed, "Okay thanks for the info Iz." Isabelle looked up at her surprised.
"Did you and Sebastian get in a fight?" She asked.
Mia shook her head. "Nope."
Isabelle was now suspicious, but nodded slowly. "Okay," And Mia walked up the stairs, to Jonathan's room in the house.
Mia sat down at the edge of the large bed, and fell back, staring up at the ceiling, thinking back to the old memories of being with Jonathan. Oh how she missed him and she hadn't even realized it till now. "What was I thinking? I should've tried to get back. Now Jonathan is this monster who has killed Sebastian, and probably many other shadowhunters all thanks to Valentine, he's not himself, but his demon self." Part of Mia was gravely dissapointed in the mistakes Jonathan had made, but the other part of her, the demon part of her, was rather impressed at how Jonathan had grown into such an appealing young man. Then Jonathan walked into the room, Mia laid on the bed, the lights off and as soon as Jonathan turned on the lights he took a couple of steps back.
"Mia what the hell!" He shouted and Mia sat up laughing.
"How was your day with rune girl?" Mia asked as she stood up and threw her shoes and weapons belt to the corner.
Jonathan closed the door and took off his shoes. "It was interesting, she went to go see a warlock. Did she know about Sebastian and you being together?"
Mia laughed. "No she did not know of Sebastian that's probably why she's taken a liking to you."
Jonathan smiled, "Has she now? I didn't notice until she kissed me."
Mia cringed, "Jonathan! She is your sister that is disgusting."
Jonathan sighed, "Yes well being a spy for my father isn't easy, I have to take some actions to convince people of being who I am supposed to be. I have to be convincing enough and if I let it be known that Clarissa is my sister, I am sure they will figure out that I am Valentine's son that was supposed to be dead à long time ago."
Mia rolled her eyes and huffed in annoyance, "Well when they do find out I'm sure they'll just chop you to bits and pieces, especially when they all know you have demon blood in you."
Jonathan smirked and took a few steps towards her, "But you have demon blood too, and they haven't done much harm to you."
"They don't know I have demon blood, with all the angel blood in me, it covers up," Mia reminded him.
"Oh yes, you are the rarest of Shadowhunters. I can't believe I almost forgot. You my love hold the most angel blood; more of Raziel's blood than most simple Shadowhunters, along with that extra dose of Ithuriel's blood," Jonathan licked his lips, "And then there's my favorite part of you, the blood of Asmodeus and of Lilith. The perfect mixture, my dark angel." He spoke softly before he kissed her slowly, making Mia's heart stop and then start up again rapidly. She quickly moved away.
"Jonathan--." And then there was a knock on the door. Jonathan's gaze hardened as he looked at Mia.
"Who is it?" He asked as he continued to look at her.
"Mia, Sebastian, dinner's ready!" Izzy's voice rang from outside of the closed door.
"OK thanks Iz!" Mia shouted back before walking to the door. "Don't ever kiss me again until you decide you want to forget about being Sebastian and start being Jonathan again." She told Jonathan before she walked out and went downstairs to eat.
Jonathan didn't even move, he was overwhelmed with anger, with hurt, with guilt. He was mad at Mia because she didn't understand that he couldn't be himself, not anymore. He was mad at himself for making her hate the person his father made him. He was hurt that he knew exactly how to fix everything and he knew that he wouldn't, he wouldn't because as long as his father was still alive he couldn't change. His blood and his father made him who he was now, and Mia hates who he is now. He's a monster, and he doesn't know how that makes him feel exactly. Which made him hate himself.
