Mia ran the rest of the way to the Penhallow residence and was taken aback once she walked in to the sight of a bunch of young Nephilim in the house. Mia looked around until she found Aline and she rushed over.
"Mia, where have you been? They portaled to Brocelind a little over 10 minutes ago," Aline said but Mia was impatient at the moment.
"Where's Clary or Isabelle?"
Aline seemed startled by the suddeness in her tone. "Clary is probably at the Hall still, if you hurry now I'm sure the portal is still open, unless you'd like to stay here and watch over the little ones with us," She explained.
"I'm gonna go find Clary." Mia said before she rushed out of the house and ran straight to the Hall.

"Clary!" Mia shouted as she ran into the Hall nearly out of breath.
"Over here." Clary answered.
Mia looked towards the dais to see Clary sitting on the steps. "Clary," she started as she moved towards her but the sound of an explosion stopped Mia from continuing as she looked up, through the clear glass roof of the hall. The sky was a rolling mass of flame and blackness, shot through with an ugly orange light, things moved against the light and Mia's hand moved to where Raziel was strapped to her side. The transparent skylight overhead rippled as the demon host passed. A sound similar to a gunshot sounded and a huge crack appeared in the glass. Mia ducked and covered her head as the glass shattered and rained down around her and Clary like tears.

Once the glass stopped falling, Mia lifted her head to gloominess, there was now a hole in the ceiling, several feet wide. "Clary are you alright?" Mia whispered, but she didn't know why she was whispering.
"Mia," Clary whispered back and Mia helped her up, they were partway across the Hall when Mia heard footsteps on the marble floor.
Mia immediately pulled Clary with her behind a pillar as Malachi strided towards the dais with a hunched dark shape perched on his shoulder, Hugo. Malachi climbed the dais steps as her and Clary watched. Malachi glanced from side to side, satisfied with being unobserved as he drew something small and glittering from his pocket. He slipped it onto his finger and Mia knew exactly what it was, a ring, to contact Valetine.
The air in front of Malachi shimmered. A voice spoke, "What is it Malachi? I'm in no mood for small talk right now."
Valentine. "My Valentine," Said Malachi in a new tone from his usual hostility. "Hugin visited me not a moment ago, bringing news. I assumed you already reached the Mirror, and therefore he sought me out instead. I thought you might want to know."
The Mirror, the lake, Valentine is at the lake. "Very well. What news?" Valentine replied with a sharp tone.
"It's your son, lord. Your other son. Hugin tracked him to the valley of the cave. He may even have followed you through the tunnels to the lake."
Mia's heart stopped momentarily, Jace, they were talking about Jace.
Valentine grunted. "Did he meet his other brother there?"
Mia froze, Jonathan. "Hugin says that he left the two of them fighting."
Mia's heart dropped at this news and her ears buzzed at the thought of her brother fighting Jonathan. By the time Mia had recovered, Valentine was gone. Malachi frowned, then marched down the dais steps and toward the front doors. Mia caught a dark figure nearing towards her and Clary, but the damn bird went for Clary and Mia reached for the bird as it cawed.
