Chapter 6: A flight to remember

Hiccup

I first thought that the Night Fury would do some more tricks on his sleeve, but Valkyrie seems calmer than I ever was.

"Hiccup, open your eyes." She said, softly. I did as she says, which causes me to be in utter disbelief of what I've done.

I'm actually flying! I was so amazed of the beautiful sight of the clouds and Valkyrie was watching me as I touched the clouds I see everyday.

It felt amazing and I felt free. The flight was incredible as we fly through the clouds and suddenly the clouds turned from light pink to dark, made me realize that we are flying through the night.

As I continue to be amazed, I saw the Aurora Borealis shimmering through us. It has rumored through Berk that something special would happen.

Then I noticed Berk. It was so magical to see it in a Dragon's point of view, no wonder that Valkyrie enjoys this every day.

Toothless looks directly at me as if this was his plan all along.

I smiled as I hugged Valkyrie, which startles her a bit, but she didn't say a thing as we continued our flight.

I said, "Ok, I admitted it. This is actually pretty cool, Valkyrie. It's amazing. He's amazing."

She said, "I told you that you would be amazed, didn't I?"

We landed in a island, which was very curious to me.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"My home." Valkyrie replies to my answer.

I paced back and forth nervously. Hiccup's not here yet, and it's dark.

As I continue pacing, Stoick had arrived.

"Valka, you seemed nervous about something. What's wrong?" He asks me, touching my cheek.

I knew that I have to tell my husband about his son.

"It's about Hiccup. He's not here and I'm completely worried." I told the Chief.

"I will have my men in search of him first thing in the morning. I don't know what that lad is thinking." He said.

"Stoick, I think he's trying his best to not think about Astrid. You seen him cry in the funeral. Maybe that's his way of dealing with it." I point out.

The Chief thought for a moment before answering back.

"I guess that you do have a point, my dear. But it is still hard for the Hoffersons to lose their only child."

Felix and Ingrid wasn't the same during the last three years since Astrid's passing. They would stare into the beach, thinking of their daughter.

"I'm going." I said.

"Valka..." Stoick said.

"No, you can't stop me. I'm his mother and I'm going to find our son alone!" I stated as I pack my things to the boat and left Berk.

Astrid 

As Hiccup looks around my isle, Toothless asked, "Why did you bring him to our isle?"

"Toothless, this is my chance to know him better this way. You know that."

He said, "Are you sure about this, Astrid? I mean this could be a huge shock to him to learn that Valkyrie isn't your real name."

"I know it's a big risk, but what choice do we have? The Red Death wouldn't stop until she get what she wants."  

He groans, "I hate it when you're right! But don't get too emotional when he finds out the truth about what happened three years ago."

"I'll be fine, bud. Don't worry about it. Like you told me, it was three years ago. We all grown up."  I said.

Hiccup said, "Wow. So this is where you and Toothless lived for three years?"

I said, rubbing my head, "Yeah, but it's not that much."

Hiccup looks at me with curiosity.

"Valkyrie, is something wrong? You seemed troubled by something. I want to help."

I was in utter shock. He wanted to help me, even though he didn't realize that the Rider is the one he used to bully?

Perhaps he did change after all.

"Hiccup, would you tell me why you were in the woods alone?" I asked.

Hic froze as stone as I asked that question, like it hit a hard subject.

"Why you care? It was three years ago! I lost her and there's no way that I could apologize to her that I didn't stand up for her that day, mostly I had a crush on her!"

I couldn't believe it. He truly cared for me. I knew I had to do something.

Then an idea struck me. I immediately pulled him closer to me and then do something that changed our lives forever.

I kissed Hiccup Haddock the Third.
