*one year later*

Isabella's POV

So, we graduated high school. I graduated with math honors but nothing else. I'm not worried about it. My vocal teacher told me to keep singing because I have a lovely voice. Rose and I are at my house getting ready for the graduation party my parents are throwing. I have no idea what I'm going to wear. Rose already has her outfit picked out. I can't believe Luke and I have been going for a year and a half. I've never been so happy. I think I'm staring off into space because Rose hollers my name again.

"Bella! This is the third time in a span of 10 minutes you have been staring off into space. Are you okay?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking is all," I say and then walk into my closet to browse my options.

"Okay. I have been thinking a lot lately, too. It has mainly been about college, seeing as I am still waiting on a call to see if I got accepted. I do not think I will, but I have been hoping. I have also been thinking about Calum's and my wedding. I am extremely nervous, yet I am also sad. My dad will not be here to hand me off, and my mum hates my guts. Actually, uhm, nevermind. I just made the conversation about me. I am so sorry," she bit her lip harshly, which is her way of showing she hates herself at the moment.

I laugh a little at her, "Rose, you're fine. I know you will get accepted because they are stupid if they don't otherwise." I finally come across an outfit I haven't worn since middle school. It was the day I introduced myself to Rose. I haven't gotten any taller so it should still fit. I walk out of the closet to show Rose (outfit on the side).

"What do you think about this outfit?" Is all I asked to see if she remembers it or not

"What do you think about this outfit?" Is all I asked to see if she remembers it or not.

"Bella, you know I will always love that outfit. Not only is it pretty, but it marks the beginning of our friendship. I just can not believe you still have it," Rose had a genuine smile on her face for the first time in years.

"Well, I do. I have so many outfits, it's not even funny. No wonder I have the room with one of the walk-in closets," I laugh a little. I walk into the bathroom and get changed, and brush through my hair again. I re-do my make-up and walk out of the bathroom, then put on my shoes. I sit on my bed again and stare up at the ceiling, getting lost in my thoughts.

Rose's POV

I see Bella get lost in her thoughts again, but I just let her be. This whole time, I have been procrastinating to get ready for the graduation party. I am way too nervous about everything that happens next. College, marriage, just my future in general. I really wish my dad could be here to see how much of a woman I have grown into.

We do not always get what we wish for, though. I never wished for my mum to hate me, but it happened anyway. I did wish for some relief from everything, never received it. Anytime I have thoughts like these, I just replay this one quote in my head that I love. "No matter what you're going, it does get better. It doesn't stay bad forever." Wise words from my perfect fiancé himself, Mr. Calum Hood.
