Katelyn

"Wait, doesn't that mean that grandpa is a." She nods, waving her hand at me I walk towards her. She then waves to Max who, ever so slowly, comes to stand at my side.

"Yes your grandfather is a human. It doesn't happen often, most of the time the time difference is around 500 years or so. But for us, it has only been a few generations. I know that you are going to have many questions for me but let me tell you the ones that you need the answers to now."

"Can I ask one quick think." She doesn't stop me so I ask her, "How were you able to have a mark? And keep other wolfs from tearing you two away from one another?" I ask, it's been the only important question I have had since I discovered that Max was my mate.

"Max needs to bring me a family heirloom. Something that has been in your family for at least 4 generations, or longer. It will represent what Max's mark would have been if he were a wolf. I will need to place a spell onto it like my elder did for your grandfather and I" She answer looking down at grandpa. Great now all we have to do is find something that is really old. That shouldn't be too hard right?

"What do you mean when you said that it only half worked?" Max asks her. I look towards him, I completely forgot that my grandmother had said that.

"As I said, Katelyn, you were able to shift into your wolf when you turned 4. Once you entered kindergarten you met Max, and you knew that he was, or is, your mate. Because your mate is a human your mother and father tried everything that they could to keep the two of you away from one another."

"Max when missing for a few months, even I don't know what they did to him. When he came back he didn't remember anything about you. Soon you two started to forget, the harder you tired to get Max to remember you the more you ended up forgetting. yet causing the two of you to forget was only half of what they were trying to do to the two of you."

"What was it exactly, I know that mom and dad would kill me if they found out we know that we are mates, what else could the possible try to do to us?" A frown forms on my grandmother face as she looks down at my grandfather.

"They wanted to brake your mating bond. So that way you could mate with who ever your mother and father wanted." I should have seen that coming, it explains why my mom and dad we so angry when the saw me with Max, they did know all along. Hell they have been planning this for year.

"Why are you just telling me all of this now!" I yell trying to keep my emotions in check. "Why would you keep this from me when you knew." My grandmother's face only falls more, I know that all of this is not her fault and I should not be taking my anger out on her.

"You two had to come together on your own. It was the only chance you had to reform the bond that you nearly lost because of your parents." My grandfather finally speaks. "You don't understand how hard it was for us Katelyn, watching you slowly lose your mate. We never wanted that for you. No one should ever go throw what the two of you went throw. And i am so angry at your parents for doing what they did."

"When your grandmother parents realized what kind of wolf she was they knew exactly what it meant and welcomed me with opening arms for they were happy for their daughter. We trying to show you parents want it meant to have a wolf like you and why you needed a human as a mare but they saw it as a waist and didn't want that for you. But that was not their coise to make."

"What exactly does it mean me having the wolf that I do?" My grandmother takes a book of the shelf behind her and passes it to me.

"That book holds all the answer, your parents destroyed every other copy, they tried to get this one but the elders doors do not open, or allow, anyone in here who wishes to do harm to anything in this room." I look down at the old book with leather binding, I can tell how old is by the smell of it and the damage to the pages and the cover.

"That book is not only the last one left but it is also the original copy." My grandfather continues. "It was written by the first Luna of our pack, and ever since ever time a emotion wolf is born it is logged into the book as a way to keep record of the times."

"Does the emotion wolf only appear if there is danger or something?"

"Actually there are many reasons as to why one would be born, but there never has been such a short amount of time between wolfs." She answers. What does all of this mean? I kind of wish I were just a normal wolf but than I guess Max wouldn't be my mate.

"What do we have to do to get our memories back?" Max asks finally speaking up.

"Katelyn  parents had some other pack who had the power of a witch on their side to take away your memories." My grandfather answers. "We are not sure exactly what the witch did but we do have a witch of our own on our side, she can help you regain your memories." I look at Max happily knowing that we soon my remember the life we used to have. "But I have to warn you, the path to your memories will be painful, in order to remember the life you had you will have to remember whatever the witch put you throw in order for you to forget. What you will remember will not only be seeing the events but reliving them. You well feel everything you felt, everything you may have smelt and so on."

My grandfathers warning scares me a little. The last thing I want for Max is to be hurt, I guess I'll be undergoing the same thing but I am a wolf, I can handle pain Max he's... A human.

"I will do what ever it takes to get my memories back." The tone in Max's voice deepens as he looks serious, a hard expression on his face that I have never really seen before. "I don't care what I have to go through , I need to remember."
