"Kaycee you updated the Wong book!" When I updated Saving my True Mate and not this book.

Max

Yelling goodbye to my mom and dad as I'm running a tad bit late, a blue car that was parked out front of my neighbors house takes off down the road as soon as I start walking on the side walk. What's that all about?

Walking to Katelyn's house took a bit longer then I expected, by the time I arrived she's already by her jeep. Today is the first day back at school since the whole thing with James. For some strange reason James has been acting wired, I don't understand why but he has.

"What took you so long?" Katelyn wines as I make my way towards her Jeep.

"Sorry, I missed judged the time." I tell her honestly. Getting into the passenger side of the Jeep she getting in to the drivers side. Katelyn won't let me drive till my shoulder gets better, so she says that she's driving. "Can i ask you something?

"Shoot."

"Well does the name Paige ring a bell?" She starts the Jeep, pulling out of the driveway she thinks about it for a minute.

"I feel like I do know someone with that name but I can't put my finger on it." she tell me. "Why do you ask?"

"Well, I saw it last night in my book. I'm guessing that the glasses you got me are much better then my old ones, since it was written in REALLY small letters." She shrugs her shoulders at me, looking into the mirror she takes a sharp right out of no were. "What the! why did you do that?"

"That car," turning my head around a dark blue two door car is hot on our heals,"It was packed outside my house this morning."

"Hold on a second," I turn fully around to get a better look at the car, "I think that's the same car that was parked outside of my house."

"What?"Turning to face Katelyn and making sure my seat belt is in place I answer her.

"It took off as soon as I started to walk to your house."

"Hold on, It showed up a few minutes before you did. It was also out side my house last night as well"

"Did you see anyone get out of the car?" I ask her, With out taking her eyes off of the road ahead of us she just shakes her head.

"We're taking the back way to school." With that being said the Jeep speeds up, she takes a sharp left and then a right. Slipping past the main road and onto a dirt road that not many people use for it's easy to get lost.

"I though you said you get lost in Walmart?" I ask nervously

"I do." She doesn't give me a change to say anything before she takes yet another sharp turn. With in a few moments the car is gone and we arrived at school.

"You think we lost them?"

"For now yeah, but what about tomorrow?"

Katelyn

Steeping out of my Jeep all eyes turn to Max and I. What did I expect, I haven't told anyone other then Matt and the pack doctor that Max is my mate.

"What the hell is she doing?" I over hear a girl say, "why the hell is with the ass kisser." A loud growl escapes my lips as I turn to face the bitch. Making my way towards her she shrinks down in fear.

"If I hear one more person call Max that I'll kick them out of the pack and make sure they stay rouge for the rest of there lives! You got that!" I yell, trying ever so hard to control my wolf.

"Ye....Yes Alpha......"

"You better run along and tell the other sluts you all hung out with, tell them what I just told you." They two girls didn't ever question me before the ran off into the school. Happy with my out burst I make my way back towards Max. "You ready?" His gaze is fixed on the assault refusing to look at me. Taking his hand into my own I pull him towards the school. One inside I walked him to his locker.

"I have to go talk to some people in the office so I'll be back in a few minutes." He nods, still not looking me in the eye.As he turns his face away from me I lean forward placing a kiss on his check. A faint smile comes to my lips as I turn to head to the office not looking back at him. As soon as I get there the office goes silent, all of them looking at me like i'm crazy.

"Good morning Alpha, how may I help you?" One of office staff asks me. She's one of the older staff members that we have working at school and I have to change what I was going to say for it would be far to cruel for me to yell at her when she has done nothing wrong.

"I just wanted to tell you all that if you hear or see anyone making fun of Max Lawson I want you to write them up and hold them in the conference room till I can come down here and talk to them." I tell her.

"May I ask why you want us to do this?" She asks me as comely as she can, carefully not to say anything that may set me off. It's at times like these I hate it how my pace members see me but all in all I rather the dumb ass fear me and the smaller smart one respect me.

"Because I am tired of the student here picking on him, also if you see them messing with the other humans and small wolfs send them in here as well. By the time this week is up no one will be bullying any of the humans, as well as the smaller wolfs."

Max

Dang, why the heck am I so stupid! I throw my text book into my locker It hits the back and fall on to the tile floor. Why am I so freaking stupid? I Love Katelyn, I love her so much but this mate stuff kind of scares me. I want to spent the res of my life with her but I know I cant.

I know what happened outside with those girls will just keep happening, as long as I'm with her I'll only cause her trouble. It doesn't help that I know know what all the students are and It make me even more afraid. Before now they have messed with me on a some what human level, there is no way I am going to be able to hold my own agents them in a real fight. I reach down to get my text book but someone beats me to it. I look up to see a girl with the blacks hair I have ever seen in my entire life.

"This is yours I presume." She holds out my book for me to take, which I do gladly.

"Yes it it, thank you." Her dark blue eyes lock on to mine only for a moment before I look towards my locker and place my text book inside it. I turn back around to look at the girl her hand was extended out in front of me.

"You do remember me don't you Max?" I have no clue what in the wold she is talkig about how does she know my name.

"I am so  sorry but no I don't." The smile her face held dies, as her eyes drop with disappoint. She brushes it off and smiles at me.

"It's Paige, Paige Madison."
