Max

Throwing on a pair of dark jeans, white t-shirt, and my blue jacket I make my way into the kitchen to make my large family breakfast. Something simple, but something I know that everyone will eat. For my parents I made them omelets. For my younger twin brother, a bowl of frosted flakes, my baby sister her bottle. As for my brother Douglas and myself, pancakes with Nutella.

I didn't bother with calling them down because I knew once I started cooking they would be down in no time. One by one they slowly made their way into the kitchen and made themselves comfortable, getting what I made for them and taking their usual seats at the table.

"Thank you sweetheart for making us breakfast again." My mother says, as she places her dish in the sink. "I am so sorry that I haven't been able to cook. I just can't find the time to anymore."

"Its okay mom, I understand and I like cooking so I'm okay with it." she walks towards me, placing a kiss on my forehead.

"How in the world am I blessed with a son like you?" I give her my best smile as she goes over to help my little sister. "Don't worry about cleaning up Max; I'll get to it later. Now get moving or you'll end up being late for school."

I really don't mind being late. But of course with all the stories I tell my mom and dad they think that I am living the best years of my life. Picking up my black book bag and house keys I make my way out the door, starting my long walk to school.

As soon as I opened my eyes all I could think about was my mate. I couldn't get into the shower fast enough. After my very quick shower, I got dressed. I decided to go with my dark aquamarine dress, black jacket and my favorite kick ass tan heals, along with some jewelry.

I allowed my red hair that is a bit past shoulder length, to hang out in a wavy/curly fashion. Applying very little make up since I really don't think I need it. Playing around with my outfit a bit before heading down stairs.

"You're up early." My father says, walking over to him placing a kiss on his cheek as he reads the morning paper.

"Well it is a big day today." I tell him, holding in all of my excitement.

"Really. I don't think there is anything special about today. Well aside from the fact that your mothers not cooking. I don't think I can last much longer with her horrible cooking." he says making faces at me. Pulling a bagel out of the bag I pop it into the toaster.

"Dad stop playing dumb, and Mom's cooking isn't that bad. Once you get past all of the burnt stuff it has some taste to it." Making my way over to the fridge to get out the cream cheese and butter.

"Me? Playing dumb?" he says with a gasp. "I can never fool around dear." My bagel pops up out of the toaster, running over to it I put the butter and cream cheese on it.

"Are you really going to have me tell you what today is when I know you know it?" My father answer is the flip to the next page in his paper. "It's my birthday Dad." Slamming his paper down him looks up at me.

"Really I had no idea." He starts to stroke his chin, making it look as if he's thinking about it. He looks at me and smiles. "Happy 16th birthday dear."

"Thank you daddy." As I start to eat my bagel my brother makes his way into the kitchen. Holding up the other half of my bagel for him.

"Thanks." he takes it and scarves it down.
