Katelyn
Max refuses to tell me what the necklace looks like. He says he wants it to be a surprise. My grandmother meet with us outside to get it, she was worried about us coming back in with an increase of pack members around. She thinks it has something to do with my parents.
"So apparently my grandmother will come meet us sometime tomorrow with the necklace." I tell Max who is currently enjoying his lunch.
"When I am finally able to mark you does that mean everyone will know I am your mate?" I can hear the worry behind his words.
"Well yes and no, the mark is only half of the matting process." He glances up from his book, a confused look on his face. "Well you know what mating means." After a moment his face turns beat red, he jumps hiding behind his book and I cant help the laugh that escapes my lips. "You know we don't have to do anything until we are both comfortable with it." He peeks over his book looking at me but still hiding.
"But don't we need to complete it so everyone will let us be together?" That is true, even with his mark if we don't fully complete the process my parents could have another male wolf clam me.
"Its nothing to worry about Max. Let's just take it one step at a time. I don't want to push you to do anything you don't want to." I answer honestly. I block out my wolf whom I know is upset over this conversation. I find her opinion in this matter not needed for I already know what's she thinks and wants.
"Its... it's not that I don't want to Katelyn I." I can tell the subject makes him nervous.
"You don't have to say anything really I understand. So don't get all worked up trying to explain yourself to me." He smiles softly back at me. "We can worry about Paige and her brother." I knew that the subject needed to be changed and we haven't talked about what he over heard or when they meet in the park since dinner as promised.
"I feel kind of bad for Paige." His words surprise me a little. "Her bother on the other hand is a completely different story."
"They both have the same goal, splitting us up." I state "So why feel bad for one and not the other." I can hear my wolf screaming with jealousy at the though of Max having any feelings at all for Paige. Be that even felling sympathetic for the girl.
"I know you and your wolf probably wont be happy with me saying this but.. I just don't feel like Paige wants to hurt us, she's just a girl who wants to be with the guy she likes. Her bother though I know he will do anything to get his hands on you but for what reason. I really don't think he likes you. At least not in the way that we like one another or Paige's feeling towards me. He has something else in mind I just know it."
Max is right, my wolf defiantly does not like the fact that he feels for the enemy. However, I somewhat understand what he is saying. The only feelings I have gathered from Paige are jealousy and sadness. Though I can't say the same for her brother as I haven't meet him nor spoken to him as Max has.
"Well say something, anything would be nice." My silences on the matter only mad Max feel worse. Which was not my intent.
"I can see where you are coming from, Paige hasn't do anything but be kind to you. I can't speak for your feelings towards her brother but I trust your instincts. While we are on the matter of her brother from now on you are not to go anywhere by yourself do you hear me." He nods in understanding. "I don't really trust anyone and I can't order the pack to watch over you."
"I didn't think you would be so calm talking about this. The other night at dinner I though you were going to go full wolf and destroy the place." He says.
"To tell you the truth I don't understand it myself. Maybe its because we are finally making some progress. I can tell you now my wolf isn't all that happy with you and your feelings towards Paige." He gives me a worried smile as he runs his hand though his hair. "Well what do you expect you are talking about-"
Katelyn are you free to talk right now. Beth's voice fills my head interrupting me mid sentence.
Are you free to call me I am currently with Max or is this conversation best left though the mindlink.
I think its best to do this though mind link or in person some where private. I don't want anyone to over hear. Beth replies
We can meet at Max's house it will be the most private as no one else is home and its away from wolf hearing ears. Just let me ask him if its okay. I can tell from Max's expression he understands I am taking to a member of the pack.
"Are you alright with Beth coming over to your house. She has something important to tell us both?" He only nods, gathering his stuff in to his bookbag.
We can be at Max's in 20 minuets.
I will meet you there. I end our conversation and state gathering my stuff. Max and I quickly head out to my Jeep.
"What does she want to talk about?" Max asks after getting settled into the car. "Why does she want to talk to both of us?"
"Right, I don't think I told you." I start up my jeep, pulling out of the parking lot. "I told Beth that you were my mate right before we had out date night. She told me that she was going to look into all of our problems and by the sound of it she found something she doesn't want anyone else to know."
