Karai's POV

"My daughter, I heard that you were spotted with the turtle again the other night. And I also heard that you weren't fighting him," the Shredder says not too pleased with me.

He's currently sitting at his throne as I bow down to him. I wasn't supposed to get caught not fighting Leo, but this time I have a reason.

"Father, I went over to fight him but we overheard the Kraang!" I explain to him.

He looks down at me into my eyes. "Didn't I tell you to spy on the Kraang did I?"

I don't answer him. It's a rhetorical question. I look down at the ground not wanting any more eye contact. I have a feeling that I'll be punished for this. "Father I know you asked me to fight the turtles, but I thought what the Kraang were up to seemed more interesting," I explained.

The Shredder slammed his hands on both side of his throne. The loud noise made me jump a little. "I don't care what you think, you are to do what you are told to do and that is that!" he yells at me.

I don't answer at first. He's normally not this strict with me. "Father, the Kraang want this crystal and..." I start to say but he cuts me off.

"What part of me not caring about the Kraang do you not understand? Tonight you will go out and fight the turtles. I don't want you focusing on the Kraang, if I find out you are there will be a punishment, understand?"

"Yes, father," I say before taking off. I don't care what the Shredder thinks. The Kraang are more important than the turtles at the moment. Why should I be focusing on them if the Kraang could do damage to our world with this crystal. I have to find out what this crystal does and if it means my father will punish me, then I guess that's the way it'll have to go.

I make my way to the dumpster where the crystal is. I walk down the back alley. At first, I don't see it. I bend down and try to look under it. I still can't find it so I push the garbage away from the building and am surprised when nothing is there! Leo must have it, right?

*ring ring

He better pick up!

*on the phone

Leo: "Hello?"

Karai: "Leo, do you have the crystal?"

Leo: "No, why would I?"

Karai: "I don't know, just come to the spot where it was."

Leo: "Okay I'll be right there."

*off the phone

I wait there until he's there. If Leo doesn't have the crystal then it means one of two things. One, the Kraang found it or two, someone else found it and took it knowing it'd be worth a lot of money.

It didn't take Leo too long to get here. "What is it Karai?"

"It...it's gone." I explain.

Leo stands there and I watch as his regular size eyes start getting bigger. "It can't be!" Leo says looking under the garbage can. He starts panicking which isn't helping me stay calm.

"You were right Karai, we should've taken it. Tonight or tomorrow Donnie will be able to determine what the crystal was for, but it won't matter. We're too late," Leo says.

My heart starts beating faster and faster. If the Kraang found it, we're in a lot of trouble. Who knows what this thing can do and if they want it, I wouldn't doubt it would have to do with taking over Earth. But even if the Kraang don't have it right now, I know they won't stop until they do have it. Either way, it's not looking too good for us.
