It's All My Fault

Donnie's POV

(A few days later)

It's not a happy day today. In fact, I don't remember the last time it was one. Or even more so, I don't know when there will be another happy day. I feel more than responsible of what happened that night. I was the one who was running tests on the crystal, I made it explode! I should've seen it coming, even Leo did! I should've been using my head, it could've changed everything! If only I had waited, or not experimented on it. This is my fault, and I'm the one responsible for everything! Including my fallen brother.

Raph's POV

(The night of the explosion)

I was just in my room, minding my own business when I heard a loud noise! I knew it came for the lab, but Donnie's explosions are never this loud! That's when I remembered something, he had mentioned doing tests on the crystal!

I run as fast as I'm able to over to the lab. All I see is fire, and a lot of it. Mikey and Splinter come racing over to see what has happened, but where is Leo? He should've been here by now! Oh no, don't tell me he's in there too!

"Raphael stand back, it's too dangerous to be so close to the flames!" Splinter calls out to me.

I don't know what Splinter had in mind for a plan, but I didn't listen to him! I needed to get my brother or brothers out of there! I ran into the room, ran through the flames! "Raphael!" I hear Splinter yell at me.

I don't know where they'd be, I just look everywhere. The flame is definitely burning me and I don't know what's going to happen to the lair. Right now, it looks like the entire place is going to burn down!

"Raph!" I hear someone call. At first, I'm really excited but then I realize who it is! "Mikey!" I yell. Why is he in here? I don't wan't him risking his life!

"Raph I came to help!" Mikey calls, I don't see him anywhere. The flames and smoke are in my way! In fact, it's getting hard to see in here at all! I don't know where I am in the lab!

"Mikey get out of here, I got it!" I yell at Mikey. There is a chance that Leo, Donnie and now myself could die in here! I don't what Mikey dying too!

"Raph, you can't carry Donnie and Leo at the same time, I'll help you carry one of them!" He has a point, if I were to find the both of them I doubt I'd make it out alive with both of them on my back.

"Fine, but come to me!" I yell. "I'll try!" he relies. We can't see each other, there isn't a way for one of us to go to another. I start coughing badly, the smoke is all that I'm breathing in. I need to get out quickly.

"I found them!" Mikey yells! "Where are you?" I ask Mikey.

"I'm not sure!" he replies. This is great, he finds them but I can't even help him!

"Mikey, keep talking and I'll come to your voice!" I say. "Okay, so I guess I'll just say random(cough) stuff until you(cough) find me.(cough,cough.")

I follow his voice, I'm definitely nearby now. It isn't long until I run into them, literally. Mikey already has someone on his back. I can't tell who is on the ground but I pick them up and we start looking for the exit.

We start walking when all of a sudden there is another explosion. The fire must be hitting Donnie's chemicals now! Mikey starts walking faster, looking for the exit. Another explosion goes off, this one bigger than the last one. I hear Mikey coughing nonstop and I realize I'm doing the same. Donnie nor Leo has said anything, I hope they're alright.

"We're, (cough)almost there!" Mikey explains. I too see the light from the lair. Mikey starts running as I do the same thing. Within ten seconds were out of the room. I drop to the floor, coughing like crazy. I breath in the fresh air and just as I'm recovering Splinter starts talking. "We need to get out of here! I'll turn on the sprinklers to the lair and hope that those will extinguish the fire. The sprinklers could damage things in your room, but this is the only chance we have of saving the lair! Go! Take your brothers and leave, I'll be right there."
