Apprentice

   "Longpaw!" I exclaim bounding to him, "Today's me and Bluekit and Brokenkit's apprentice ceremony!" "Wow that's great! Whitestorm says in just two moons I'll be a warrior!" He boasted. "I gotta go get ready for the ceremony, but I'll see you at the ceremony, right?" I ask "I wouldn't miss it for the world." He headbutted me, before I turn toward my sister and brother. "Hey sweetie" My mother, Yellowfang yowled gently. She bent down and began licking my face all the way to my tail, purring contently. I open my eyes and look to my siblings,  both their pelts were groomed perfectly, just like mine. "I'm so proud of you! All of you." She beamed. "Alright, alright, mother. We know. Now, are you guys ready?" Bluekit mewed. Me and Brokenkit nod in unison, moments before hearing, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here beneath the high rock for a clan meeting." Raggedstar, my father, rang out. I bounce enthusiastically to the high rock, my siblings calmly padding behind me. I take my spot next to Longpaw, wraping my tail around him. Bluekit and Brokenkit joined the croud under the highrock, and the ceremony began. 

   "Today we will be holding the apprentice ceremony for three kits. Brokenkit, Bluekit, Redkit, step forward." His powerful meow rang out. We do as told and pad to the highrock. "Brokenkit, You will now be known as Brokenpaw. Your mentor will be Volefur. Redpaw, your mentor will be Roseclaw, Bluepaw, your mentor will be Badgerstrike." He finished, leaping from the highrock. "Redpaw, Redpaw! Bluepaw, Bluepaw! Brokenpaw, Brokenpaw!" The clan chanted, Longpaw the loudest. "Congrats, Redpaw!" Mewed Longpaw. "You're my best friend, Longpaw. I couldn't do it without you." I say, pressing my head into his chest. "Redpaw, get over here!" My sister hissed from behind me. I turn and walk over to her. She looked at me smirking. "What?" I mew innocently. "You like him" She accused. "of course I do, he's my best friend." I say. "No, you like like him." "Yes i do like him, your point is?" "Oh for StarClan sake, you're in love with him!" She snarled, flicking her tail impatiently. "in love!? Yeah, right. Bluepaw you are SO mousebrained sometimes" I yowl furiously. I twist and dash into the medicine cat's den. "Cinderpelt!" I call out. "Yes? I'm a little busy Redpaw." She mewed. "Oh I just wanted to see Dodger or whatever." I say. She flicked her tail toward a nest with a big black cat in it. "A-are you okay?" I meow softly. "Fine" He snapped. "Do you need anything?" I twitched my tail nervously "umm.. a little freshkill... I guess" He sounded like he didnt want to ask for my help, which he probably didn't. "Okay, right away. But, asking for help won't make you seem any weaker" I meow before dashing out of the den. My sister was waiting there for me. I ignored, picking up a mouse and darting back into the den. "Here. By the way, your name's Dodger... right?" I ask dropping the mouse. He nodded. "How old are you?" I ask. "Err.. eight moons." "wow, you're just older than an apprentice! You're huge!"   he nodded. I pad out of the den, dodging my sister. I run into the forest at top speed, before being stopped by Roseclaw. "Oh, Roseclaw. Err.. can we go hunting?" I ask innocently. "Of course we can... after you tell me why you were in such a hurry." She said, narrowing her icy blue eyes. I explain how my sister accused me, and I just wanted some alone time.
