Black fur pressed into my side as I rose to my paws. I stretch long and beautifully, before padding out of the den. "Hey, wait up!" Called Dodge. I whip around, before purring and headbutting him. "Sorry, I didn't know you were awake." I giggle. I could see lust in his eyes. For once I held his gaze, instead of shying away. Was Luna right? Did he love me?
"That was quite the night" meowed Dodge, shiftingI his paws on the chilly, frosted new leaf grass. "You could say that again. Kits, foxes, what next, unicorns?" I flicked my tail. "Probably, knowing this place. I don't think I've ever been busier" he yowled. I nod. Out of nowhere, I just padded up and nuzzled him. He looked at me. "Wha-what was that for?" He muttered. "Oh, nothing." I meow, licking him and turning, strutting away, tail high.
"Are you playing hard to get?" Meowed Luna. "Indeed. If he wants to be my mate, he gon have to work for it" I laugh. "Damn right he is" she meowed. "I saw his jaw drop when you turned off, he loves you Redfang" she meowed. "You really think so?" I mutter. She nodded. "Please, Redfang. Every single cat in the clan has seen the way he looks at you, the way he sticks with you no matter what." Her gaze held mine. "I guess your right" I meow. "I'll go torment him some more" I giggle.
"Dodge" I purr, flicking my tail under his chin. "Hey" he meowed, eyes huge. I walk forward, licking his ears. "Alright, Redfang. You've tortured me enough." He growled. "Fine. I really like you, Dodge" I murmur. "You know I do too I'm guessing. Will you be my mate?" He asked, a hopeful gleam shining in his eyes. "Of course, dog breath!" I hiss, pressing my muzzle into his. We shared tongues for a bit until we both fell asleep.
I let my eyes peel open to see the sky was indigo, stars twinkling. I sat up slowly. How long were we asleep? "Dodge wake up" I growl. He groaned, "what?" "Never mind, I'm going hunting peace out." I meow, trotting out into the woods. I open my mouth to scent. Vole! I stalk around, before spotting it. I creep up to it silent, before leaping, biting the small rodent. I dug up some leaves before burying my kill. I immediately got the feeling I was being watched.
I taste the air, only to smell nothing unusual. I back up to a tree, so nothing could attack from behind. After waiting several moments, I began padding silently through the underbrush. I prick my ears, listening for anything. I began letting my guard down, just as a twig snapped. I snarl, "I know your there!" I heard nothing for what felt like a lifetime. I feel claws reach my skin and weight on my back. I yowl, flipping onto my back. The cat released, and I flipped to stare into her eyes. She was a silver tabby she-cat. Her scent was fresh, like rain. I dig my claws into her, "who are you?" She struggled aimlessly. "Ivy" she muttered. I could tell from her sunken in cheeks she was starving. I release her slowly. She panted heavily. "I have to go." Escaped her mouth. I bit into her tail, before pulling her back to me. She let out a furious hiss. "Where are you from?" I growl. "Twoleg place, goodbye now." She meowed. I didn't trust this cat one bit. Our borders were fresh, so she obviously knew what she was doing. I shake my head. "If I catch you one more time in BloodClan territory, you better pray!" I growl, turning and pounding away.
