I stood in the medicine cat den, my paw screaming disapproval. It was still painful, but healing. My belly was swolen, and I heaved with the effort of hopping out of the den. I had to make the announcement to my clan. " all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather in the clearing for a clan meeting!" I yowled, loud enough for everyone to hear. My paw was twisted and painful, but Aspen said in around a half moon I should be good as new. As my clan gathered around me, I began to speak, "As some of you may have guessed, I will be expecting my second litter. I was pregnant before the battle with the wolf, but didn't find out till a moon ago. Also, Aspen has given Briarpaw her medicine cat name, Briarpool." I waited for the yowls of approval to die down. "Until I leave the nursery, Ashglow will fill in as leader, and Blaze will fill in as deputy. Blaze, I would like you to take a hunting patrol of Bluemoon, Ivymoon, Dodge, and Acefire. Ashglow, you too, but take whoever you want." I meowed, jumping off the highrock. Dodge pounded up to me. "I just wanted to see you before I go." He meowed, licking my cheek. "Okay. You saw me. Now scat." I hit him with my tail. He purred and tore away. Ashglow trotted around camp, gathering cats. I gazed around my clan. Tallear was spitting at Mistypath, his hackles raised. She threw back an insult that made him pin his ears. I rushed over to them, "Tallear, why are you always throwing shade at your sister?" I interrigate. "Because if a threw a rock at her, I'd get in trouble!" he shot. Mistypath snarled and ripped her claws across his face. He yowled and struck out at her, her skin peeling away under his claws. "Cut it out!" I growl, hitting him with a paw, bowling him away. "Both of you, go see the medicine cats" I order, hackles raised. They both rushed away, spitting curse words at each other as they went.

"Redfang, you must rest!" Urged Briarpool the next night. "I need to feel the rush of battle, you couldn't understand!" I yowl. She grunted and thrusted me to my nest, clearly struggling to sheathe her claws. She bent down and whispered, " I will hold you down by the throat if I have to, to keep you from harming those innocent little kits." She released me and sat by me till I slept.
I woke to Dawn sunlight. I stretched and saw Redwillow, the newest warrior of BloodClan sharing tongues with Tallear. They really took a liking for each other. Maybe more. On the other side of camp sat Lowpaw and Sparrowpaw boxing each others ears playfully. Their training was coming along nicely, Lowpaw was a great fighter, Sparrowpaw a fine Hunter and an okay fighter. I rose with a groan and hobbled my way across camp. Mistypath rushed across camp. "Mother!" Her voice shook with excitement. "I'm expecting Ashglow's kits!" Her words made me tense. My daughter, barely eight seasons old, was pregnant. I nuzzled her, "that's awesome!" I dragged my tongue over her muzzle. "Have you told Dodge?" I ask her. " Yes! He's so happy." She purred. "Ashglow is over the moon!" She mewed. I pressed my nose to hers.
A while later, I heard my kits bickering again. Tallear grunted a threat, before Mistypath purred, "only a cat like you would harm their little, pregnant sister." Before she brushed her tail to his nose and strutted away. He snarled and ripped away at the grass and turned for the fresh kill pile. Ivymoon was practicing battle moves with Lowpaw, and I watched as the apprentice cuffed her ear, ducked and slid behind her, then pretend-raked down the silver she-cats flanks, and, as she spun, flattened her face to the ground and fake slashed her throat, a devastatingly brutal blow. Ivymoon kicked away Lowpaw's hind paws to make her hit the dirt. I turned to look at the leaving sunset hunting and border patrols, heading out of camp. Blaze, Sparrowpaw, and Dodge were the only cats I saw as they exited camp.
The patrol bolted into camp, dragging a huge group of cats toward Ashglow. I hissed and hurried towards them. "We found these fleabags scoping out the territory!" Spat Blaze. I faced their leader. "I'm Shady. I have been looking at your territory, and I want it. My clan has been dying and I am willing to fight for your home. Mind you, I outnumber, out power, and out weigh your clan." I growled, "I am also willing to fight. We will battle. We give you a moon. Come, or we will track you." He dipped his head, exiting. I noticed that one cat stayed behind. I hobbled over and pushed the she-cat down, and realized soon she was a queen. "I-I want to join you. I have kits and we have no home" the white she-cat mewed. She moved to reveal a fire colored tom, close to a moon old, hiding behind her. I grumbled, "Fine. What are your names?" "I'm Soko, that is Talon" both the kit and the queen were decent sized, Talon's white paws pretty big for such a young kit.

I gripped and the mossy ground a quarter moon later, feeling my contraction take place. "You're doing fine, Redfang!" Mewed Briarpool. Aspen meowed, "Redfang, you're gonna need to push on your next contraction". As my current one ended, I gulped for air and let my head hit the nest, though I didn't cry out. I knew pain much harsher. As my next contraction took place, I sink my claws into the earth and clamped my jaws as I pushed, feeling my first it slip out. I turned to lick the kit, but it didn't last long as I pushed another kit out, writhing from the pain. So far I had a big black she-cat with one white marking on her face, and a smaller white Tom with a ginger tail. After I pushed more, I had 3 more kits, one toroiseshell she-cat, and two white Toms. My kits suckled from me, all except one of the white Toms. He didn't move. As I bent to sniff him, I realized he was dead. I looked up at Briarpool. I didn't have to say a word. The young cat took the kit for burial.
I knew these times would be harder than ever, and I couldn't raise my kits by my self. "Soko, this is a lot to ask, but will you feed my kits? I need to be leader for this clan to win this battle. I-I still want to be part of their life, but I can't suckle them. I just don't have time." She stared at me, then nodded. "Names?" She asked. "The tortoiseshell is Morningkit, the white tom is Cloudkit, the tom with the red tail is Rushkit, and the black she-cat is Nightkit." I mewed sadly, as I turned and left the nursery to tell my clan. I leapt onto the highrock and began the meeting. "I just kitted, and now Soko is feeding my kits. It was a tough decision, but it had to be made. I will still play the role of their mother, just not all the time. I will return to being leader, Ashglow will return to being deputy. StrongClan should arrive for battle soon, I am taking Bluemoon, one of the clans best fighters, to get me back in shape and renew battle moves. I expect the herb store to be full, apprentices focused on their battle training, and warriors training well. Sparrowpaw and Lowpaw will be great by the time the battle comes. The meeting is over." I growl, leaping down. I sighed as quiet mews echoed about camp.
