I sat on the high rock. Ashpaw had just recieved his warrior name, Ashglow. It was time for me to be a normal warrior again. Until i realized, I wasn't just going to be a warrior, I would be made leader! I felt unsteady as I realized how much power I would have. I shook myself, remembering what this was about. My two kits would be apprenticed. I breathed deeply, "Mistykit, Tallkit. You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Mistykit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Mistypaw. Tallkit, from this day on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Tallpaw. Mistypaw, your mentor will be Jinx." I look to Jinx. "Jinx, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have proven to be clever and strong, and you will be the mentor of Mistypaw. I hope you pass down all you know to your apprentice." My gaze shifted away from Jinx to Ashglow. "Ashglow, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You received excellent training from Dodge, and you have shown yourself to be courageous and patient. Though you are a very young warrior, I know you will do great. You will be the mentor of Tallpaw. I hope you pass down all you know to him." I bunch my muscles and jump from the high rock as the clan chanted my kits names. Finally after so many moons, I was free to patrol again! "Hey Ivymoon, are you busy?" I ask the new member of our clan. "Nah. Why?" She mewled, wiping a small silver paw over her face. "You up for a hunting patrol?" I ask. "Sure, I'll go fetch Acefire and Blaze to bring along, if you like." She offered. I bow my head in thanks as she trotted away to get the two cats. I look around to see my kits and sadness hit me hard as I remembered Hopekit, and what a good apprentice she would have made, warrior or medicine cat.

As we trampled through the underbrush, Blaze asked a question that stunned me, "when are you gonna go to moonstone, you know to get your nine lives?" Asked Blaze. "I don't know, tomorrow maybe" I scoff quietly. He nodded, I knew he wanted to be deputy. I crouch toward a vole, before striking out, scooping it toward me, before killing it. I turn around, and Acefire mewed, "have you ever missed a piece of prey?" She asked. "Uhh.. A fish or two and a few rabbits. Have you caught anything so far?" I meow strictly. "Yeah, calm down" she flicked her tail, licking her white paw. I saw she caught a sparrow and two mice.

I gulp down a fat raven as I sit by the freshkill pile. "Hey, Redfang!" A cats voice surprised me. I look around, before spotting a smaller black shape which I recognised as Tallpaw. "Oh, hey baby. How was training?" I ask my son. "Great! He's so fun to train with! He goes easy on me sometimes, though." He meowed. I lick him on the forhead and send him off to bug Dodge, his father.
