"Redfang Redfang! Longtail Longtail! Bluemoon Bluemoon! Brokensky Brokensky!" The clan chanted. I was excited, but not to be made warrior, to be able to leave this clan of ours and go check out Bloodclan. I turn away "is it time?" I ask Dodge. He shook his big head. "wait until the rest of the clan goes to sleep, we can take nursery and elder guard." he meowed, just loud enough for me to hear. I nod, then look to the sky to see it was near sunset.
"Alright. Everyone's asleep. Last chance, should we bring anyone else?" Dodge whispered. I shake my head. "they would just mess everything up. Besides, we don't need anyone else. We have two strong fighters, and I learned enough to practically qualify as a medicine cat." I joked, whipping him with my tail. For a second I caught a flash of affection. I lick my chest fur in embarrasment. As we make our way quickly toward the entrance, I take one last look at my birth clan. I remembered my brother, Brokensky, so caring and handsome, my sister, Bluemoon, so mouse-brained and annoying, and finally I remembered Longtail. My best friend. "Goodbye you guys. Love you all. Meet you one day again. Love you, ThunderClan. Never forget you guys. Any of you" I whispered, only for my ears. Sadness hit me in the chest like a rock. I turn away before emotions could get any more intense.
We make our way through the forest slowly. I take in the scent as deep as possible, making sure I would remember every little thing. I finally hear rushing water. "Come on" Said Dodge. I pad after him, and we clear the river in unison. we rush through this part of the forest, before finding ourselves in two-leg place. "Alright, they should all be asleep, but beware just in case" Dodge meowed. I nod. He led me around, we passed nests and other dens and things. A strong scent of kitty pet hit my nose. "Rolo. Don't be afraid. He acts like he's hot shit. He's all mouth. Just wipe that smug look right off his face, and it'll be fine." He said. "Alright" I murmur. A big tortoise-shell tom approached us. I signal to Dodge to stay behind as I walk up to meet him. "Greetings Rolo, I am Redfang just let me and my friend pass and there will be no trouble" I hiss. "Oh, no. You aren't going no where, beautiful." He said creepily as he finally stopped circling. "Excuse me?" I growl, ears flattened. "You heard me" He muttered, licking his lips. I shiver before lurching forward, swiping his face with my claws. He stared at me, shook his head, then purred, getting closer to me. I growl, before taking his head in my paws viciously throwing his face to the dirt. I get on top of him, before snapping his neck. I get off then shake myself. "Geez, Dodge, you didn't say he would be a massive creepo!" I yowl. "Hah, sorry. forgot to mention he goes for every beautiful she-cat living" he laughed. "did you just call me beautiful?" I ask, astonished. "Maybe" Dodge flicked his tail. I shook my head, before heading in the direction we were previously headed.
A scent made me stop in my tracks. Dog. Dodge noticed too. "Sparky" He growled. "how is it you know every creature roaming this earth?" I meow. He shrugged, "Sparky's just a barking furball. C'mon" He mewed. I follow close behind him. Luckily, we never met this dog. "Ugh, something reeks!" I exclaim. Dodge was stopped dead in his tracks. I follow his gaze. There was a calico cat laying dead. "Flower!" He screeched, hurling himself forward. She had the same scent as Dodge, except sweeter. "Is that your.. sister?" I ask. He looked up at me, sadness flooded his eyes. "Yes. I can't keep mourning forever. Let's go." He flicked his tail. "No, we should rest, maybe find something to eat" I meow. "Okay. Can we bury Flower somewhere?" He asked. I nod. We pad to a small patch of dirt where a few daisies and roses were growing, and thought it was the right place. Dodge said a few words, before we look for a soft place to sleep. We couldn't find anywhere, so Dodge went hunting while I built a nest. I raked moss from a tree and used it for the base of our nest. I then claw up some long soft grass and use it too. I sit in the nest and it began raining hard, luckily I made the nest under a thick three. Dodge approached, a small mouse dangling from his jaws, his pelt soaked. He shook himself off, dropping his prey. "This is all I could find, care to share?" He asked. I nod before bending down and eating with Dodge. We gulped down the last of the mouse. "You did a good job with the nest." He mewed. "Thanks" I reply, before drifting off to sleep.
I wake and stretch, cool leaf-fall morning air reaching my skin. There was no sign of Dodge "Dodge?" I call out. He came trampling toward the nest. "It's ThunderClan, I can scent them!" He panted. "Then what are we waiting for let's go!" I hiss before twisting and taking off.
Crow-food hit my nose. Dodge signaled me forward. I soon realized we had made it to the woods.
