I run through the forest. I wasn't quite sure what I was doing there, or what was going on. Panicked screeches called from behind me. "Dodger kill" they rang out. I whirl around and face behind me. A black and white Tom stood much larger than me. I part my jaws to call out, but not a noise was heard. He curled back his lips in a snarl. My blood ran cold and a shiver was sent down my spine as his perfect white fangs shimmer in the moonlight. I look around for an escape but everything was closed in. The only way I would survive was if I attacked. I spring with amazing accuracy and I would have landed on any other cat, but this "Dodger" well, dodged. Quicker than I'd ever seen. He launched at me and fixed his jaws around my neck. "No!" I snap awake, leaping to my paws
"What's wrong?" Asked Bluekit, gentley licking my shoulder. "Nothing. I'm okay. Promise." She looked me up and down suspiciously. She nodded before padding out of the den slowly, as if she expected me to run to her and tell her everything. Who was that cat,"Dodger?". I shiver. I exit the den and run to the leaders den. "Dad?" I call. My father, Raggedstar, meowed "come in". I do as told, before explaining my dream. "It could be a message from StarClan." He meowed. "Why would a kit get a message, not a leader or medicine cat?" I ask. "Maybe it is something you should be worried about. Hmm.. I'll alert the clan to keep an eye out for strange cats, and you aren't allowed to leave without a warrior until this is figured out." His voice was still gentle, but more serious. "Maybe could you send bigger patrols? I don't want a cat getting hurt. He was like nothing I've ever seen before." I flicked my tail, annoyed that it didn't seem he was too serious about this. "Okay. I'll try. And at the next gathering, I'll alert the other clans." He sounded more serious now. I nod and exit his den. Longkit was waiting outside. I didn't feel like chatting, so I blink a hello to him. To my dismay, he padded up to me, "Hey, so who's this Dodger?" "Were you eavesdropping?" I snap "Sorry.." He ducked his head, scuffing his paws. "It's alright. and im not sure who he is, but he was in my dream and he looks dangerous." I explain. He nods. "Well, today's the apprentice ceremony for me. I'm so excited, Redkit!" "Congratulations! I am too!" I mew, pressing my muzzle into his before flicking his shoulder playfully with my tail. "Redkit!" My father called. I whip around. He beckoned me into his den. "I've assigned Volefur and Runningstripe to take turns guarding you" He meowed.
"Guard me? Dad, I'm not a nursery, not an elder's den, I don't need guarding!" I snap "I'm sorry, guard was the wrong word. Protect is what I meant." I shake my head in disbelief, before turning and rushing out of the den, Runninstripe at my heels. I flick my tail in annoyance, before bursting out of camp, scrambling over the fallen tree protecting camp. I run deeper in the forest, suddenly not knowing where I was. I lost sight and scent of Runningstripe, and it was dark. I heard a hiss, so I turn to see a black and white huge tom. No way. It couldn't be. I look to his face, and see those gleaming white fangs. My heart stopped. Dodger.
I turn, running faster than ever before toward camp. I see Runningstripe. I throw myself to him, before hiding. He faced Dodger, snarling. Dodger leaped, and Runningstripe hurled himself upward, grabbing Dodger's belly. Dodger easily got free. Runningstripe launched at him, Dodger easily slid out of his way, twisting and pushing Runningstripe to the ground. He gasped until Dodger hit him again. I couldn't just stand and watch! I leap, landing lightly on Dodger's back, digging claws into his back, hissing wildly. Runningstripe recovered, and placing 2 paws on his side, managed to throw Dodger at the ground. Hitting the ground hard, his head trickled blood. He was alive, but unconcious. Runningstripe dragged him back to camp, and I go fetch my dad.
I run behind the big leader. He looked down at the cat then up at Runningstripe. "So you nearly lost to this rogue?" He asked, frustrated. "No, Raggedstar. He was not just a rogue. He was like nothing you've ever seen" Runningstripe meowed. "Dad, don't you remember? This is the cat from my dream." I hiss. "I do. Well, I just sent out a patrol. I can't help but wish it was them who ran into this cat, not my daughter and strongest warrior." He grumbled, half to himself. "Well, numbers are declining, so if he's lucky we'll give him a warrior name and take him into the clan. I don't want to let him loose, he could stick around and injure more cats. And if we killed him.. well no decent cat would do that, I should hope." He meowed. Runningstripe grasped his scruff, before dragging him to the medicine cat den.
