I pant heavily as my paws carry me as fast as they would go. I twist around to look over my shoulder and see a large grey and white figure hard on my heels. It pounced and held me to the ground, biting my shoulder. I yowl, raking their belly hard. Blue eyes stared into mine. I kick them off easily, only to be pounced on again. I drop to the ground, smothering the cat. They released and I sprang back up pinning them. I bite shoulder and kick at their belly with my hind legs.

"Alright, Redfang you win!" Screeched Acepaw. I chuckle. "Okay." Releasing her. She whirled around to lick her tail. "Oh my Starclan! My tail has a huge bend! Good job you fat whale! When you suffocated me you broke my tail!" She growled. "Sorry! Come on, I'm sure Aspen will have something."

"I'm afraid our only option is amputation." He muttered, grimly. I saw Acepaw quiver. "I'm only joking, I might have some herbs. But if they don't work.. Oh, nevermind that, it will work." He finished, before ushering me out of the den.

"Scourge! Badgers! Hurry!" I cry. He nodded, unsheathing his long, reinforced claws. He commanded me to go with him. He led me straight up to it, staring into its small, beady eyes. He leaped, raking his claws across its face. It let out a wail and with one swipe scourge was on the ground. I leap onto the creatures back, raking its ribs with sharp claws. It yelled out. Scourge was back to his paws, swiping and dodging hits frantically, until yet another badger came and scooped him up in its jaws, and shook him like a rabbit. "Dad!" I wail, leaping at its face. Claws sliced at its skin, and scarlet liquid seeped from the wounds. It dropped Scourge, and I dragged him away from the battle quickly. I turn to see them both towering me in a corner. I back up over my fading father. My paw strikes out and hits one on the face, as I bristled hissing and spitting crazily. "Redfang, go! It's my time and you know it as well as I do" he meowed. "Shut up! Don't say that! I can protect you..  Even if it costs me my life" I mutter, hissing and striking the badger. I duck in between them, attacking one from behind. They both whipped around, and before I knew it I was in its jaws, being shaken viciously. I twist and spit, fighting with all of StarClan. Until a silver shape bolted into action, bristling. They slit open the badgers face, leaping and holding its back. It released me and I flopped on the ground. I look around, my world slowly going dark. No! Scourge! I have to help him! Who just saved me!? I hoist myself up, aching everywhere. I collapse back down, the last sight a badger tearing into my father.

My eyes peeled open, pain everywhere, blood matting my thick coat. "Scourge!" I choke. "Where is he?" I try getting up, only to feel a sharp pain. I shook my pelt and hobble out into the clearing. To my horror and disbelief, I spotted a black scrap of fur, bloody and limp. "No" I cry out with all my strength, running to him, numb. I bury my face into him. "StarClan have mercy! Not him! Please! StarClan help!" I cry into his bloody fur. "Scourge! Come back! I love you! Please.. No.. Not you, why not me? I can't lead this clan! Scourge..." I collapse next to him, choking breath in and out. "It's okay, you were the strongest of your litter, the strongest of your clan. You will lead this clan greatly. Its my time. I will be with you in everything you do." He choked. "Scourge! Stay with me! Don't leave! I love you!" I yowl. "I love you too" he muttered, before all the life faded from him. "No!" My chest hurt like nothing before, worse than all my other wounds.

That night he was taken to his burial place. I still didn't know who saved me from the badgers, but it didn't matter. Until I had a strange idea. Could it have been Ivy?

I pad with Aspen and Blaze, a fire colored tom, the mate of Luna. I was on my way to high stones, to see if I was approved to receive my nine-lives. as we approach mother mouth, my heart began pounding what if they rejected me? Would our clan go with no leader? Would the clan break apart? I shake away the thoughts. I let my paws lead me into mother mouth, fur prickling. I reach the glowing stone, and lie down, my nose pressed against it. My eyes shot open, alarm shooting through me as in realized I was back home. Stonefur sat in front of me. "Greetings. No need for explanation. I know why your here. It is not yet time for you to become leader. BloodClan will be fine without a leader, I promise. Don't worry, young warrior. I know you have much greater things on your mind, like Dodge, and kits. You must do that now if you wish to have kits at all." He stood and padded away, fading into the moonlight. What the hell just happened?
