Chapter 7 - You Can't Pimp Yourself Out For a Dry Bed
"It's 2am there! What was it for this time?" I growled.
This was a regular occurrence at the Jones' household. Her mum was always kicking her out or locking Ruby out for one stupid reason or another, normally it wouldn't be such a big deal because she'd come over to my house, however I'm in a completely different country now; and although I would still encourage her to go to my house even if I'm not there, knowing Ruby she won't.
"'Cause she's a bitch, need I say anymore? Plus she had a fella over, they were making loads of noise, when I told them to piss off to his house she just kicked off." she sighed sadly.
"She gathered a suitcase full of clothes and chucked them out into the pouring rain, and she was like 'don't you come back 'ere till you learn some f*ckin' respect girl.'" she impersonated her mum, "and then she literally threw me out of the house."
"Shit, what are you going to do?"
"No idea, I guess I could call Dean from last week but he'll want sex and I'm not really in the mood. But desperate times, desperate measures, if I weren't soaked to the bone I'd just sleep in the park or something." she huffed.
"Ruby! You can't pimp yourself out for a dry bed! Just go to my house you crazy bitch." I burst out, I was horrified that she'd even think she had to do that.
"No, I couldn't do that. Your mum will probably rope me into another gala or something, I can never say no to her." she whined.
I snorted and sat down on the edge of my bed, my mother -surprisingly- loved Ruby, probably something to do with her being a major girly girl and she always does what she wants her to.
"I have an idea, I'll phone Liam he can sneak you in, The Dragon won't even know you're there. And you won't have to pimp yourself out to some creep, you nutter." I scolded.
"No, I couldn't do that." she replied with hesitation.
"Yes you could! It's fine, you know he'll help. You can stay there as long as you want but at least stay for tonight." I argued desperately, I didn't want her going to some strangers house, anything could happen.
"Okay," she replied defeatedly "but just for tonight." she added quickly. I was surprised she had actually said yes so quickly, she must be really upset this time.
"Okay that's fine babe, I'll text Liam to let him know to expect you." I said softly, I'd have to think of a more permanent solution; she couldn't keep living like this.
"Thanks Vi, you're the best" she sighed, "are you sure your brother won't mind sneaking me in? I don't want to get him into trouble or anything."
"Ruby, he's twenty two years old, he's a big boy and can take care of himself." I rolled my eyes.
"So tell me whats new with you? Screwed any Americana's yet?" she asked slyly; I could almost see the devious glint in her blue eyes.
I felt so relieved to hear her ask that even if it did irk me a bit, it meant that she'd be okay and she was getting back to her normal self.
"No Ruby May, I have not, because I am a lady and I have a boyfriend." I replied in mock snootiness.
She snorted down the phone "Please, who are you trying to fool? You are no lady, your mother tried her damned hardest and if she couldn't achieve it then nobody will. Besides you want to get rid of that peice of shit you call a boyfriend" she replied heatedly.
I frowned at her response, I was expecting her answer because her and James never really did get along but she'd never been so open about it before.
