We lived our lives in our paradise As gods we shaped the world around No borderlines We stayed behind Thought balance is something fragile
Well we thought we were gaining We turned back the tide It still slips away Our time has run out Our future has died There's no more escape
As the sea started rise And the land that we conquered It just washed away We all have tried To turn back the time It was all in vain

Susan couldn't imagine Christmas holidays better than the one of her fifth year at Hogwarts. She guessed that Tom asked her to stay also to be distracted and not being tempted to slid back into the Chamber of Secrets. And she was just glad to keep his mind busy. The new year was promising to be a very special one.
At the end of the holidays, they joined the delayed trip to Hogsmeade and it was Tom's turn to test their followers. Susan had to investigate on some mysteries and get informations, so she could also train her ability as metamorphmagus. The closer relationship with Tom gave her new strength to achieve goals that once appeared harder or impossible to her. That also thanks to the unforgivable meeting with the basilisk. What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. She could just smile to all the troubles she came from. She was victorious now. Susan admired her new reflection on a frozen window: her red curly hair, her slim body, the new mask that her face was. She took the look of a young witch she saw leaving the village some minutes before. She would have dared anyone to recognize her.
She couldn't understand how someone could wish a bloody big spider as a pet. But in the school were allowed all kinds of fools. Susan walked into a warm, quiet pub and admired her different look on the window, then turned, noticing a familiar face sitting alone at one table. She dragged a chair to sit next to him. "Student, aren't you?". Wilhelm Stark seemed not even wanting to notice her. "Why so sad?" She didn't remember of ever seeing him so depressed before. "Life's.. problems" he mumbled curving his back more. "You can talk openly. I'm a stranger, I can't harm you, but maybe I can help". He disapproved "It's boring. I'm not..in talking mood at the moment. Sorry". "Keeping all inside can just damage you. You don't notice but it will bring darkness where then you can't take it out". He kept his mouth shut. It was just more funny to her. "Family? Low grades?" She insisted studying his expression, that slightly gave a negative answer. She smirked "Aww, love affair?". He gave her a faintly nod "More or less". If only he fell for Fawley. Two annoying birds together could get busy enough to forget about her. But from the little she noticed at the Ball, Stark agreed to deal with Gatlin Fawley only because he had no other choice. And he had to join the event just to send offended glances to Susan every time he got the chance. "Does she know you exist?". "Yeah" he murmured bitterly "But she can't feel what I feel for her. She is blinded by the shining reputation of someone else. She can't take in consideration someone like me". Inside she giggled, letting out just a mischievous grin "A cute kind boy like you?" Then to mock his artistic vein, she added "You know, we can do so many incredible things, we can change the world's shape, we can destroy and create, we can even travel in time, but we can't force someone to love us. We can be manipulate someone to hate us or appreciate us, but love requires something more. And there's no spell nor potion than can create it, just give a false poor flat copy of it". Stark had turned to her and stared in a puzzling way. She started to be worried he could have sensed something, but she could see her perfect disguise into his eyes. "I agree" he said finally, lowering back his head "I even considered..trying some potion. But he is so possessive. He would have killed both me and her". Susan frowned. Stark knew nothing. Tom would have killed him for daring use a potion on her. She was safe. And he wasn't possessive. She let it go "You never told her about your feelings?". "I'm walking on thin ice. I agreed to a deal to be near to her without exposing myself. I can't afford being sincere about my stupid feelings". Susan smirked. She just loved her ability more "Such an evil deal". "Yeah" he gave her a sideways glance "I guess for you it's easier. You're attractive and gentle. You don't get troubles". She chuckled "Oh, boy, don't judge people from how their looks. You know nothing about me. But tell me, how is she? What made you fall for her? Is she special?". He just shrugged, his eyes focusing on something she couldn't see. He seemed daydreaming "She is just her. She thinks her past gives her reason to be superior to anyone else, but she's just..broken. And I wished I can help her somehow, show her that some goodness in this world. But I guess I failed, because now it's hard for myself to find some relic of goodness into this world". Her slight annoyance turned into satisfaction. He really knew nothing. "Just move on. I'm sure someone's out there waiting for you. Be strong enough to move on and you won't regret it" she stood up giving him a fast tap on his shoulder. He imitated her, watching her confused but relieved "Thanks.. for listening". Susan waved her hand to say it was nothing. She had to thank him for the fun. She reached the door, when he said loud "Miss! I don't even know your name". She turned grinning "Name.. What's a name? We are just two roaming souls".
