"Vince is a what now?" I gaped at Alec as he filled me in on everything he knew about Vince.

Apparently, that was a lot more than I could have assumed.

"He's a hybrid," Alec repeated the word he'd used just a few moments ago. "Part vamp, part wolf."

"Wolf? As in-"

"Werewolf." Alec finished. "He's a good guy though, just don't piss him off."

"Wait, what?! Werewolves are real too?!"

Alec snorted. "You're a vampire, your boyfriend and friends are vampires, you know witches exist but it's werewolves you're having a hard time believing in?"

When he put it like that, it really did seem stupid. In my defence though, I wasn't sure what is real and what is. I'd looked up everything I could on folklore, the different creatures that people believed in so could anyone really blame me for being sceptical about some things? To find out vampires were real was shocking enough but werewolves? What else was real?It was bound to give me a headache just attempting to figure it out.

Then I started to wonder. Vampires, witches, werewolves... what else had I read about was actually real, wandering the earth? Demons? Angels? Changelings? Fairies? I already believed in ghosts but wouldn't that mean, by extension, that there had to be some kind of purgatory for their souls to go when they pass on to the other side? Or a Heaven? Hell? If so, where the hell was my Guardian Angel when I was being abused, when I was brought here and thrown into even more danger or even when I was turned? Did everybody have a Guardian Angel or was that only for those deemed worthy enough to have one?

Nothing was making much sense now.

"So every creature I've read about is real?" I asked him slowly, mind swimming in thought. "Every single one of them?"

"If you've read about it then yeah, it's possible there's some out there." He shrugged, seemingly oblivious to the shock I was experiencing. "The lore had to start somewhere, right?"

"I suppose," I agreed, brows furrowed in concentration. "But wouldn't people have known about it by now? Wouldn't they have been caught somehow?"

"You didn't know about vampires until you were brought here," He pointed out. "We can hide pretty well. Besides, humans might not be as vicious as all these supernatural beings but they're pretty fucked up themselves. I doubt they could handle knowing vampires and werewolves are out there."

"So you don't know for sure that there are other things out there then?" I asked. "Angels, demons... things like that?"

Alec snorted. "Angels? Really? I don't believe for a second there are people sitting in the sky watching all the shit going on in the world because if there were, wouldn't they be doing something?"

I couldn't help but notice that he said nothing about demons not being real so I quickly changed the subject before I started feeling nauseous. Could vampires even feel nauseous because there was an unsettling feeling in my stomach just thinking about black eyed demons wandering the earth, possessing people and killing others.

"How did Vince even become a hybrid?" I asked instead.

"Bad luck?" Alec suggested with a grin. "I don't really know. I'm not best friends with the guy."

"Why does Leah think they hate each other?"

"Because that's the way Shadow wanted it. He wanted us all to believe they hated each other, I only found out they were friends a few months back. I don't have a fucking clue why though because having a hybrid on our side would be fucking awesome. Nobody would dare cross us."
