There was three of them.

Three people stormed into the house after smashing a window because apparently, using the door like a normal person just wasn't acceptable when attempting to surpise the people inside the house. If I wasn't so terrified of the situation, I would have been tempted to tell them that smashing a window only makes it more obvious what it going on and therefore, they'd lost the element of surprise in an instant.

Shadow and I had ran down both flights of stairs when we heard the crash, only to see that there were three people standing in the living room, the window now shattered. Shards of glass lay on the floor where Rose stood shrinking back against the wall, visibily terrified. I could smell the blood from the cuts on her arms, a result of the glass shattering no doubt, causing the blood lust within me to grow and grow.

"Shadow..." I whispered weakly, the feeling increasing by the second. My nails dug into the skin on the palm of my hand, afraid to even take a breath because the smell would hit me all over again. After the amount of time I'd spent trying to protect Rose from all things supernatural, she now needed protecting from me. Typical.

"Don't think about it and you'll be okay." He quickly whispered to me, though he never took his eyes off the three strangers in the room, neither of which had moved a muscle since entering our home. "This will all be over soon."

"Yes," One of them men spoke up, a tall blonde haired man that had muscles large enough to make me fear for everyone's safety. "It will all be over when you hand over the grimoire."

"That's not going to happen so I suggest you leave while you're still alive." Shadow responded automatically, voice low and demanding.

"Well, that's not going to happen until we have what Benjamin wants so..." The blonde man shrugged, hands stuffed into his pockets and looking the picture of innocence, like he hadn't just broken into our home.

"Benjamin?" Shadow's posture tensed and he inhaled sharply.

The blonde looked amused now. "What? Your boyfriend didn't tell you? Benjamin has wanted that grimoire ever since he found out about it."

"And it was all because of your little girlfriend over there." A black haired man spoke, pointing over at Leah who stood beside Alec. The only people missing from this were Vince, Marl and Ric. "She couldn't refuse after the offer Benjamin made her."

I turned to her, already knowing about the offer. She didn't meet my eyes though, instead staring at the ground. Rolling my eyes, I turned back to the men.

"She can forget that offer." I spoke up. Leah wouldn't be happy about me speaking for her, especially when she wanted Raven back so desperately, but I couldn't let it happen. "You're not getting the grimoire."

"Five minutes with me and I can get you to change your mind..." The blonde looked at me, eyes roaming my figure and I shifted uncomfortably under his scrutiny.

"Dude, do you have a death wish?!" Alec suddenly piped up. "Hitting on Violet with her boyfriend standing right next to her? That's just asking to be killed."

He didn't seem bothered in the slightest. In fact, he looked even more amused, but he didn't get the chance to speak up, a dark skinned man did.

"Benjamin may have been busy lately, but he wants that grimoire and will stop at nothing to get his hands on it. You're only prolonging the inevitable by keeping it hidden from us. If we have to tear this place apart to find it, we will."

"Do you really believe I would be stupid enough to have hidden it in this house when the person who stole it from me could find it again?" Shadow was clearly referring to Leah, who looked even more uncomfortable to hear that than I had felt having the blonde looking at me the way he did.
