"Mom I'm home!" I yelled walking in the door and flopping my backpack on the ground.
"Hey honey." My mom said coming down the stairs. " How was college?"
"Ugh same old, I don't think Sam will ever stop picking on me." I said sighing. Sam a mean girl in a few of my classes has disliked me ever since I started college last year. I know you think It's weird I'm 20 and still living at home, well yes that's how it is. Only because the college is so close it's cheaper then renting a dorm on campus.
"Aw honey remember what we talked about right?" My mom asked with worried eyes.
"Yes mom." I said rolling my eyes. I know she was just trying to help but it was frustrating she was all about good vibes and being kind to everyone. Sometimes I just wanted to punch Sam in the face, and honestly sometimes she deserved it.
" Okay sweetie. I'm going to start dinner your dad should be home soon. You go and do some homework." She said walking of to the kitchen.
"Okay." I said like I didn't have all weekend to work on it.
I ran up the stairs and kicked my shoes into my room and slammed the door behind me. I flopped my bag on the bed and pulled out my phone. I checked for messages and sure enough no one had texted me wow! Shocker of the day, not. I have like one friend Rachael everyone else ignores me, and considering Rachael was probably busy with homework so she wouldn't text till later.
Which speaking of Rachael is the reason Sam hates me so much because I befriended Rachael. And may have sort of stolen her away from her, but me and Rachael had so much more in common and we just sort of clicked. Not to mention Sam wasn't very nice to her.
I turned of my phone and pulled out my math homework and flopped it on my desk. I turned to the first page of my trig homework and did the first 5 problems in 15 minutes or so. I decided to take a break and finish the rest after dinner or over the weekend. I mean it's so boring to sit for an hour on your butt doing nothing but homework.
I glanced at the clock 4:00 enough time to jump in the shower before dinner. I went into the bathroom and took my shower quickly. I got out and got dressed in my favorite sweatpants and a T-shirt. I dried my long long hair and threw my towel in the hamper. You think I'm exaggerating when I say long long? Well I'm not my hair goes down to a few inches above my knees. So yes it's very long, and not to mention a pain in the butt. I just haven't wanted to get it cut yet, most of the time I like it but sometimes it gets annoying.
I braided my hair into a side braid and threw some socks on to keep my feet warm. I headed downstairs to see if dinner was ready, or to see if my mom needed help. I was guessing I would end up seeing the latter. My mom wasn't the fastest cooker, I'm not busting on her or anything she makes delicious meals. She just tended to get distracted and she always had music on which didn't help. It sounded like today it was Michael Jackson one of her idols as a teen.
" Hey mom need any help with making dinner?" I asked turning the corner into the kitchen.
"No honey actually I just finished putting everything in the oven." She said." Do you mind helping clean up though?"
"Sure." I said. She had a bunch of vegetables out. Which meant tonight was probably veggie casserole which was pretty delicious I have to admit.
I walked around the counter and helped clean the cutting board and put everything back in the fridge.
"Honey why don't you go watch something I have some things to take care of, and dinner will be done soon." She said. It felt like she was shooeing me off which was weird but I dismissed it and went upstairs to my room.
