"Hurry up." Rachael wined from my bedroom.
"Just a minute I'm coming." I said adding a bit of hairspray to my frizzy bun to tame it.
"Sure, you've only been saying that for the past five minutes. We're gonna be late." She said with a frustrated sigh. My mom had come home from the hospital and we had decided to go see a movie. Unfortunately she had thought to bring Jake along. Don't get me wrong I like Jake, but I kind of wanted to just have some girl time. Oh well, if I had a boyfriend maybe I wouldn't have to constantly third wheel. But for now that's how it is, and will probably be for a pretty long time I thought with a sigh.
I walked out of the bathroom before Rachael exploded.
"Come on!" She squealed grabbing my arm and tugging me towards the door.
"Yikes! We'll be fine."
"Whatever." She jumped in the car and started the engine before I even got my door open. I quickly got in after her and she pulled out immedietly.
She surprisingly didn't speed on any of the roads, but whenever we hit a red light she would mutter come on to herself until the light proceeded to change. She pulled into a spot and I immedietly spotted Jake leaning casually against a wall beside the theater.
"Ugh see he beat us!" She said exasperated. She acted like it was such a crime to arrive later then whoever we were meeting.
"It doesn't matter." I said dismissing her frustration.
She just rolled her eyes and got out, I followed her lead and we walked over to Jake.
"Hey Rach, Hey." He said nodding at me.
"Hey." We chorused together.
We headed in and bought our tickets before heading to the snack bar. I have to say one good thing about Jake coming I would probably get a popcorn to myself.
We ordered our goodies and sure enough they let me have my own popcorn while they shared. Sharing, so overrated I thought chuckling to myself. Neither of them noticed as they were to engrossed in whatever they were talking about.
I doused my popcorn in butter, super unhealthy, but I couldn't resist. We headed into the mostly empty theater and found seats near the middle. I personally didn't like the front, I mean who wants to get a kink in their neck. The back was okay, but you always got stuck with the couple who made out during the whole movie.
They whispered during the previews which got on my nerves a little since they hadn't thought to include me in their conversations. My popcorn was gone by the time the movie started which was normal. I wish I could say I had the self-control to make my popcorn last at least half the movie, but sadly I didn't. The longest my popcorn lasted was five minutes into a movie.
The movie was pretty good although I kept sneaking glances towards them. The first glance they were both fixated on the screen. The second Jake had slipped his arm around Rachael's shoulders. The third they held hands and she had layed her head on his shoulder.
I wasn't mad at them, I was happy as a matter of fact. I just felt a little left out in that moment. I didn't know why they even thought to bring me, they had barely spoken a word to me since we got here. They were to much over each other, at least they hadn't started making out.
Curse me and my dumb thoughts. They just kissed, the credits were rolling, but the lights hadn't come up yet. I looked away not caring to see them snogging each other. Okay, maybe a bit harsh, but you get the point.
"Ready to go?" Rachael asked bursting through my thoughts.
"Oh yeah." I said snapping my head up and looking at her. Her face was alight and I knew what she was thinking did you just see that? I can't believe it!
