*Saturday morning*
My alarm clock rung for probably the fifth time this morning. I groaned and reached out my hand to hit the button. I hit it and it stopped beeping, I opened one eye so I could look at the time and practically sat straight up. It was 10:30 already! There went half of my Saturday. I really should work on waking up earlier.
I got out of bed and got ready before realizing I had absolutely no plans for the day. Well, maybe I should have slept longer it's not like anyone would miss me. I made myself a quick breakfast after saying good morning to my parents. Who were kind of tense today for some unknown reason. I checked my phone to see if anyone had texted me, which I'm sure they had especially Rachael, considering how late I slept in. I had a few from Jonathan which surprised me he hadn't texted me since Wednesday. His last message was sent 10 minutes ago.
Jonathan: Hey,
Jonathan: I know I haven't texted you, but I've been busy
Jonathan: I was wondering if you wanted to hang out before the game tonight?
Me: Sure what time and where?
Jonathan: I was thinking noon at the cafe where you work? If that works for you
Me: Okay yeah that'll work see you then :)
Jonathan: See you!
I texted Rachael to see if we could hang out later, and she agreed to chill at my house while watching the game tonight.
I only had 45 minutes before I was supposed to be at the cafe, so I went back to my room and did something with my hair. Which in itself took 15 minutes. I decided on a pair of black wedges to go with my skinny jeans, and my sweater. I grabbed my purse and checked to make sure I had my wallet in there, then I went downstairs.
"Hey mom," I said walking into the living room where she was sitting with my dad watching the news.
"Hey hon." She said keeping her eyes on the TV.
"I'm going to go out."
"Okay, with who?" She asked.
I rolled my eyes. " Does it really matter? I'm old enough mom,"
"Yes it does, I don't want you going out with some random guy or something like that." She said looking at me sternly now.
"Okay, okay I'm going out with a friend, his name is Jonathan." I said I decided not to mention he was Jonathan Toews, you know. No big deal right? My mother was a big hockey fan and would probably go crazy and want to meet him. I can't even imagine how awkward that would be so I kept my lips zipped.
"Okay, is someone else going to be around?"
"Yes, we are going to a cafe." I said hoping she would let me go so I wouldn't be late.
"Okay bye and be safe." She said turning her attention back to the TV.
"Bye." I got in my car, and drove there. I arrived right on time, literally it was 12:00 sharp. I could see Jonathan inside sitting at a table by the window. He saw me get out of my car, and he waved. I waved back and walked inside. I took a seat across from him.
"Hey Em." He said putting his phone in his pocket.
"Hey." I said smiling.
"So how was your week?" He asked smiling.
"Well..." Let's see first my crazy ex showed up, not to mention getting bullied by Sam, on top of that my parents have been fighting a ton. But he did not need to know all that so.. " It was great!" I said.
