We arrived at the hospital and Rachael helped me out of the car. We went into the emergency room area and waited for a nurse.

"How may I help you?" A nurse asked kindly.

"Umm I need to get my leg checked out." I said trying to keep my breathing steady.

"Okay just a minute." The nurse said smiling at me. She left and a few minutes she came back.

"Right this way." She said gesturing for us to follow. We followed her slowly and we stopped outside a room a few doors down the hall." You can wait right here till the doctor comes it should only be a few minutes."

"Okay." I said. Rachael helped me sit on the bed, and we sat in silence waiting.

"Hello." A voice said I looked up and saw who I presumed was the doctor." A knee injury?" He asked.

"Y-yes." I said stuttering out of nervousness. I pointed at my right knee.

"Okay." He came over and felt around my knee making me gasp in pain. Rachael squeezed my hand reassuring me." It doesn't feel broken, but we're gonna take x-rays to be sure." He said.

I nodded not trusting my voice. He left and came back with a wheelchair. I got in and he pushed me out of the room.

"I'll be right here waiting." Rachael said smiling.

My breath caught and I took a deep breath trying to not panic. I could feel my heart pounding as we went toward the room. The doctor got the x-rays and I survived barely I almost freaked out, but I managed not to.

"Okay looks as if it's just a bad sprain. It will probably take 3 to 4 weeks to heal and you'll need a brace. How did you get this injury?" He asked pushing me back to my room.

"Well two years ago I injured my knee pretty badly playing hockey and it's never healed quite right since then, and then just now I was skating and I slipped and slammed into the boards." I said.

"Okay I would reccomend you stay off the ice for a month or two." He said.

"A month!" I exclaimed I couldn't last that long without skating.

"Yes or you may have more problems in the future." He replied calmly.

"Okay, okay." I said trying to calm myself.

"You can stay in your room until we get you a brace it shouldn't be to long." He said pushing me into my room and leaving presumably to get a brace.

"Rachael I won't be able to skate for a month or two." I said starting to breath faster.

"Aww Emma that's terrible." She said sadly." Hey stay calm for me." She said hearing my breathing pick up.

"I'm trying." I said.

She gave up trying to calm me and came over and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back and a few tears slipped out.

"I'll always be here. Hey I have some good news. Yesterday I bought tickets to the game tommorow." She said pulling away and smiling.

"WHAT!! NO WAY!" I screamed." Rachael thanks so much!" I pulled her back into a bone crushing hug forgetting about my panic. Which I'm guessing was her goal.

"Your welcome." She said smiling at my reaction.

"Have I ever told you how great of a friend you are?" I asked even though I've told her a million times.

"Yes." She said laughing.

"Oh well it needs said a lot." I said laughing.

"Here you go." A nurse said coming into the room and handing me a brace." Do you need help?" She asked.
