Chapter 5

I walked out to the car I was happy, but honestly I doubted Jonathan would text me. It was probably just a kind gesture. I got in the car and shut the door.

"Good you found it." Rachael said

"Yep I did." I wondered if I should tell her about seeing Jonathan. I decided against it because I doubted he would text me.

"So you want to go out for some ice cream?" She asked.

"Hell yes!" I practically shouted I loved ice cream. My phone pinged indicating I had a message. I looked at my phone hoping for it to be Jonathan.

Unknown number: Hey Emma :)

I almost flipped out. I hit reply.

Me: Jonathan?

Unknown number: Yep and please call me Jon or Jonny. :)

Me: Okay! You can call me Em

Jonathan: Okay Em

Jonathan: What happened to your knee? I noticed you have a brace.

Oh no not the knee, I really did not want to talk about this especially over text.

Me: I had an accident I'd rather not say over text

Jonathan: Okay ;) I've got to go text you soon

Me: Bye

I turned off my phone and sighed, I was probably just keeping up the texting for a while then he would forget all about me.

"Who are ya texting?" Rachael asked after I put my phone away.

"Nobody." I said but my face said otherwise when I blushed.

"Hmm must be an important nobody." She grinned and I just rolled my eyes. I would tell her later.

{Jonathan}

Em: I had an accident I'd rather not say over text

I decided if she didn't want to discuss it we wouldn't.

Me: Okay ;) I've got to go text you soon

Em: Bye

I turned off my phone and shook my head. I don't know what it is about Emma, but she seemed different from all the other girls I've met. I really wanted to see her again. I grabbed my stuff and waited for Pat.

"Oh there you are." Pat said coming out of the locker room.

"Yep you literally saw me leave." I said rolling my eyes.

"Whatever, you ready to go?"

"Yeah, let's go." I said.

"Who was that girl you where talking to?" Pat asked, of course he asked.

"Oh nobody really just someone I ran into." I said hoping he wouldn't question further.

"Mhm." He said smirking.

I shoved him and we walked out to the car together. We threw our gear in the back and I got in the driver's side and Pat got in the passenger side.

"Off we go." I said pulling out.

"Can we stop for ice cream?" Pat asked whining like a little kid.

"No not tonight." I said." I'm going straight home, you can walk there if you like."

"Fine captain no fun." He said crossing his arms.

I shrugged him off and kept driving.
