The rest of the morning\ early afternoon was a blur. To many people asking if I was okay. I went home after I had calmed down a bit, but when I got to my house I seemed to be just as scared and jittery. Rachael was still in classes, so I hadn't gotten to speak to her at all.

To be honest I didn't even know if she had heard what happened. I would assume so, but who knows. I just left her a text explaining I was going to be vacant for the rest of the day, but I didn't mention why. I'm sure she would have heard the way things spread there.

My mom was out when I got home so I collapsed on the couch not caring that my backpack was still on my shoulders. I debated what to do , I had the whole afternoon plus evening and absolutely no plans. I kind of wished I had stayed for classes, I wouldn't have to worry about keeping myself distracted. My professors has insisted that I take the afternoon of though.

I slipped my phone out and sent a quick text to Jonathan doubting he would answer. A few seconds later, much to my surprise, a text from him came through.

Jonathan: Hey what's up?

Me: Hey, nothing much hbu?

Jonathan: Same

Me: Well, I was wondering if you were free to hang out? I'm out of classes for the day.

Jonathan: Sure sounds good! Where?

Me: Doesn't matter. My house? Or we could go out?

Jonathan: Your house sounds fine... Will there be food involved?

Me: Haha food monster

Me: Yeah I'll make something we can have for dinner.

Jonathan: Hey! That's mean :'(

Jonathan: But dinner... Okay sounds good

Me: Okay see you!

Jonathan: Yep! I'll be over in 20 or so

Jonathan: Btw I forgive you for calling me food monster✌

Me: Aww... But I'm not sorry

Jonathan: Geez you're mean today

Me: Chill I'm just kidding

Jonathan: Knew it haha

Me: Shut up weirdo and get in your car

Jonathan: Okay okay *waves white flag in surrender* I'm coming!

Me: Good ;)

I giggled to myself as I put my phone away. He was to funny. I reluctantly got off the couch and hung my backpack up before slipping off my shoes. It was 2:00 so I decided to just get a casserole ready that I could just throw in the oven later.

I turned on some tunes and started throwing things together in a dish. I made vegetable casserole, my mom's recipe of course. I was just sliding it into the oven when the doorbell rang. I shut the oven door and walked over. After checking the peephole and seeing it was indeed Jonathan I opened the door.

"Hey Jon." I smiled and he returned it.

"Hey Em. Mind if I come in?" He asked

"Of course. Actually," I said starting to close the door." I think we can talk through the door just fine."

"That would get annoying." He said followed by a laugh.

"True. Come in." I said laughing.

"What's cooking?" He asked looking at the counters where I had made a mess from the casserole.

"Casserole. Hope you like it."

"Yumm i love casserole. It isn't ready yet is it?" He asked.

"Nope not yet. I wasn't going to start cooking it till later." I said brushing a few crumbs off the counter and into my hand.

"Okay sounds good. So what should we do?"

"Well, we can listen to music, play the Wii, play a board game, or watch a movie. Unless you don't like any of those." I said racking my brain for more ideas of what to do. I hadn't even thought what we would do I just invited him over. Spur of the moment idea.

"I vote for play the Wii. Unless you'd rather pick. It is your house."

"Technically it's my mom's house, but I'm good with Wii." I said wiping the counter with a damp rag.

"Okay sounds good." He sat down on the bar stool while I finished cleaning up the counters." Oh sorry I should have offered to help." He said a duh look on his face.

"Oh no no don't worry about it. It's good." I said immedietly sighing inwardly it's good? Really Emma that's all you can come up with.

"Okay... Well where is this Wii?"

"Over there." I said pointing to the living room TV.

"Okay what games do you have?"

"Well, I haven't played it in a while so just give the case a look. You can pick the game." I came around the counter and followed him into the living room.

"Sounds good." He picked up the case and flipped through it."Oo! How about we play Mario go-cart?" He held up the disc triumphantly.

"Sure." Thanks goodness one game I can actually play.

He put the disc in while I turned on the TV and sound. We played Mario for a good hour or so. It was fun, we were laughing practically the whole time. It felt good to laugh, all the stress and nerves from the day dissipated, and I forgot about the whole incident that morning.

We poked fun at each other, and it reminded me of my brother when we were younger. The oven beeped making me jump a few inches off the couch. I placed a hand over my racing heart.

"Yikes. I think I almost had a heart attack there." I said sighing.

"Same." He said ovetrdramatially clutching his chest and pretending to pass out.

I shoved him making him slide off the couch. He was still playing the passed out card, so I let him lay there while I went and checked the casserole.

The smell was delicious and my mouth started to water. I pulled it out of the oven and checked the temperature it was perfect. I turned off the oven and set it on the counter on top of a hot pad. I grabbed three plates out, since I didn't know if my mom would be home or not. Always better safe than sorry.

Jonathan came over after I had dished out the casserole. We enjoyed a nice dinner together just talking and goofing off. He was definitely a lot more funny then what I had given him credit for.

Hope you like it! I know it's a day late, but at least I got it updated this week. Anyways don't forget to leave a vote or comment ( or both ;)
