EDITED

Everything was going horribly, terribly wrong and it wasn't even noon.
Mason, my uncle, decided to play a prank on me because I ate the rest of his potato chips while we were getting gas at the gas station.
Except that this time he's taken it too far.
I've been walking along the empty highway in the middle of Georgia for an hour now.
What did he expect me to do? Just wait here?

I've called him eight times now, I think to myself as I dial his number for the ninth time.

He picks up on the fourth ring, wind howling in the background,

"Hello?"

"MASON JAMES LOCKWOOD. YOU BETTER GET YOUR WOLF ASS BACK HERE AND PICK ME UP. I'VE BEEN WALKING FOR AN HOUR IN SANDALS. SANDALS," I say loudly, though not completely shouting. I'll save that for the car ride back to Mystic Falls.

"Sorry Debria. You ate my snack. And I didn't appreciate it. I'm literally coming up behind you," He says and hangs up quickly before I could bark at him yet again.

I growl to myself and stuff my phone in my pocket and turn around. Sure enough his Ford Bronco XLT was cruising down the deserted highway with ease. I throw my thumb out and pretend to be a hitchhiker.

He pulls up next to me, all the windows rolled down,

"Hey, need a lift?"

I lift my sunglasses up and glare openly at him, which seems to amuse my uncle even further because he chuckles. When I go to open the passenger door I realize it's locked and I glare harder before boosting myself up into the car through the window with no effort.

I cross my arms over my bare stomach and look out the window as he starts to drive again but at a faster speed.

Twenty minutes pass.

"Debri....," he uses my nickname.

I don't even glance his way. I keep looking out the window at the beautiful scenery passing by us.

Another ten minutes pass.

"Debria...come on. The silent treatment really? Seven years of training and honing your skills and living with me in Florida and you silent treatment me?" Mason asks, fake hurt in his voice.

I look at him and roll my eyes once before looking away again.

He left me at a dirty gas station in the middle of some very small town in Georgia. Georgia! I've never been here before! Hell yeah he gets the silent treatment. I have no knowledge of Georgia, so I had zero clue where I was.

Mason then says something that snaps me out of it,

"I'll tell Kat you're being a pain in my ass and then she'll whoop your ass."

My eyes grow wide in pretend fear as I look over at him,

"Oh no! Your very strong and very old vampire girlfriend is going to beat me up if I don't talk to you! Blah blah. I could kill her on an easy day, Uncle Mason, you know this. Don't set Kat on me. I wouldn't want to hurt her," I snap at him.

Mason rolls his eyes at me now,

"You know Debria you're seriously starting to worry me. Seven years with me and all this power shit still goes to your head."
