Walking down the steps from the second floor of the Mikaelson house, to the courtyard below, I see Klaus and none other than Elijah waiting for me at the bottom.

My white tunic top with gold accents blows lightly around me when I reach the bottom of the stairs, my black jeans hugging my curves and my brown combat boots, shiny and new, are laced up to my knees and ready to go.

"Good morning boys, can I help you today?" I ask them sarcastically, rolling my eyes slightly.

Elijah looks me over, a frown evident in his eyes,

"Yes, well I'll just cut right to the chase. The leader of the half moon werewolf pack lives here in New Orleans. Their leader Jackson found me the other night, and said they all feel your presence here in the French Quarter. Jackson said a Lycanthrope used to run their pack five hundred years ago and all their descendants are Alphas of the pack. They just want to meet you. Today, at noon. Does that work for you?"

I drop my arms to my sides,

"I have zero interest in being the Alpha of a pack I don't even know or want."

The last time I had a pack to care for was in Mystic Falls, and they were a band misfit vampires, a witch, my hybrid brother, and the Petrova Doppelgänger. The last thing I want is an actual pack of werewolves to babysit.

Klaus steps forward now,

"Debria, sweetheart, we've been trying to get this pack under control for quiet sometime since we returned to the Quarter. If you could just meet with them, that's all we are asking," his eyes meet mine,

"That's all I'm asking."

Letting out a long breath I was holding, I look between them and give in,

"Fine I'll meet them." It was difficult to say no to Klaus when he was giving me butterflies with his staring.

Klaus clasps his hands together once,

"Perfect, I'll go call Jackson and let him know, PS, he thinks you're a male Lycanthrope, they've never had a female run their pack." Klaus winks at me before speeding off somewhere in the house.

Elijah and I just stare each other down for a few minutes.

"Klaus told me what happened to you up in Alaska, and what drove you from Mystic Falls," Elijah says softly.

"I don't need your pity Elijah," I scoff slightly at my favorite original.

Klaus speeds back in smirking wickedly at both of us,

"Jackson said he'd be here at noon sharp."

I nod and push my hair behind my ears, taking a deep breath,

"I'll be here, like I said."

"Good," Klaus says and turns to leave, but looks back at me, just staring me up and down, his expression something I could not read.

"What is it?" I ask him, looking at my outfit in concern I spilled something on it from breakfast earlier.

Klaus smiles at me softly, his eyes gentle,

"Nothing, it's just good to see you back in action little wolf."

And then he's gone, leaving Elijah and I alone again.

"Well, I'm going to go walk around town and find some more food," I say, going to leave, bored with the house.

Elijah raises a hand to stop me, his expression serious,

"Debria, forgive me if I am mistaken. But there seems to be a connection between you and Niklaus."

I stay silent not wanting to dive into this conversation with Elijah of all people.

"Debria, you should see the way he looks at you. Don't tell me that's nothing," Elijah exclaims, his tone a little harsher than I'm sure he intended it to be.

"I don't know what you mean," I say, narrowing my eyes at him, daring him to contradict.

"You should've been paying more attention to the way he was staring at you, like you are the ocean and he is so desperate to drown," Elijah states his brown eyes trying to make me take the hint.

I grow annoyed now and I walk over to him, inches from his face so he can read my eyes clearly,

"Elijah, you know from Klaus that I have just lost my husband and baby. I don't pay attention to you brothers longing stares towards me. Excuse me if I'm still grieving."

Elijah seems to immediately look guilty for saying anything and he stays quiet for a moment before speaking up again,

"Forgive me, I just can't see my brother lose someone he so deeply seems to care for. It will ruin him, I'm sure of it. So please just stay safe and make my job easier."

I nod once before tossing my hair over my shoulder and speeding out of the house to find a cute cafe to hide away in until noon.
